Current Unopened Packs?
« on: August 08, 2010, 07:46:19 PM »
I just saw on ebay a Limited Edition Postcard Series 6 Unopened pack. I have to admit I'm completely clueless about all of these new releases, and had no idea any postcards were being sold in unopened pack form. Apparently there are two variants of this pack.

Can someone in the know summarize which postcard releases have been in unopened pack form? That is, with something appearing to be a wrapper and in some way sealed? Is this something unique to Postcard Series 6?

Thanks,
Dave

This is new with series 6 but previous post cards came in envelops, does that count?

LOL, who the hell knows? But I guess not since I didn't count the Old School envelopes. This postcard release just looks more like a real pack somehow. I admit it's pretty tough to quantify.

Go with my definition that I offered in your other discussion on this and this quest will instantly become simple.....if it doesn't come in a box with other packs, it aint an unopened pack.  Now, if your goal is to collect sealed cards, then shedds, old school, post cards and so on are in play.

The postcard sets are in envelopes and not wrappers!

This is new to series 6, and yes, there are two pack versions, phases 1 & 2 (or 6a & 6b), which can be determined by the numbering on the back of the pack.  Phase 1 was numbers 1-150, and the numbering is white in a pink oval.  Phase 2 is sets 151-300, and the numbering is pink in a white oval.

These might be pretty easy to reseal, I'd be really skeptical of these packs 'unopened' on ebay, especially if the seller has been listing sketches.

It is definitely a wrapper, and giant one at that.  Whether or not you would classify it as an unopened pack is a tough one.  It is a wrapper, it's sealed and it contains cards inside.  To me that makes it a pack but you may look at it differently.  I definitely put both wrappers in my wrapper collection.  You can debate whether or not it's an unopened pack but there's no debate that it's a wrapper!

I'm not sure there will be any left unopened in a couple weeks, so it may be a moot point this late in the game.

I was searching for postcard and not plural. Thanks for the link. He mentions the forum so I wonder what member this is.
