Don't know if it's been mentioned already, but the Wacky worms appear in the June 2021 title, "Cap'n Corpse"

So is it nostalgia from the artists to hide some "easter eggs" or are they just running out of character ideas?

You mean Kong's Hawaiian, right?

Actually, the line from Graft Cheese was "This here cheese was yellow, now it's full of holes", not "shot full of holes".

And I don't know about lines. Does anyone else think they should be considered the same thing as characters or not?

Sure, that line is not the same, but the line that is the same, is the same.

And yet another:

All New Monthly Series September 2012 #19 (Pinky)

A finger similar to the one in Bustedfinger is in it. It's just missing the bandage.

Two more I just found:

2015 S1 #48 (Hunched Tomatoes) and 66 (MayDay).

A monstrous version of one of the tomatoes from De-Mented Tomatoes is in the first one and the drunkard Mr. Peanut from Plastered Peanuts is in the second one.

If we're including lines as well as characters, here's one I noticed long ago:

*ANS5 #35 (mrs. Goodbar).

A variant of the line from Mrs. Klean is on it.
