I find most “ambient” music dreadfully boring, but still listen to some of Brian Eno’s incredible material. I hope this is what I hear when I die and head through the tunnel towards the bright light.

Or, if you’ve already had your coffee this morning and require something a bit stronger, this version of the MTM theme is sweet

I love Eno's "non ambient albums" -

But this ambient piece of his called "An Ending" always has a profound effect on me. -

both of those Eno pieces [Deep Blue Day and An Ending (Ascent)] are from the Apollo  Atmospheres & Soundtracks album - which was written to go with the For All Mankind film.
I heard the album back in 1983 but didn't see the film until 1989 when it had a special screening here at Johnson Space Center. Absolutely amazing to watch the Moon landing footage accompanied by that Eno music.
Available for streaming on Netflix.

I had bought the Apollo LP when it first came out but had forgot all about it until I saw the film many years later.  Great stuff!

I got the movie once it was released to DVD. I still have the movie but haven't watched it for quite awhile. It is fun because of all the cool footage. I just loved the space program when I was a kid. I also love the series From Earth To The Moon. I also bought the special blu-Ray of the space program about a year ago. I can't remember what it's called. I believe it was a Discovery show. It's supposed to be great but it's still in the shrink wrap. I got wrapped up again on this space kick when we had commander  Lovell as a guest speaker for one of our company events. Tom Hanks played him in Apollo 13. He was fascinating to listen to.

A fantastic band and song. Also a great Alistair Maclean novel and movie. I’d give my left pinkie to be 10% as cool as the bass player.

I've never heard of bloodrock. They must have done well with Bloodrock to make a Bloodrock 2 ;)
I can see where that would scare a small kid. Now it's pretty comical. Reminds me of something from Spinal Tap. Good stuff!

I've been trying to find the MP3s on places like eMusic.com and such.  No luck yet.  Perhaps someday.

Great choice! I like how they combine the main riff with riffs from "Day Tripper" and "Satisfaction". I definitely remember my friends' reactions to this song. I had a buddy who loved this song and April Wine in general and another buddy who mocked them for what he saw as their attempt to place themselves on par with The Beatles and The Stones.

I'm sure people really don't know who Glen Burtnik is. The previous songs are from his initial solo career. He then went to be the lead singer of Styx. Remember this one?

How about this band? Their only charted single (it made #27 on Billboard's Hot 100) is only one of many great songs by them, IMHO.
