Increment 5, week 1:
slow day, no new cards, 17 card balance
Again, there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to this. I've never seen anything so arbitrary. I was under the impression that corporations - or for that matter, any business - followed some kind of plan, sales projections, etc. to determine future growth? If the "plan" is to simply follow the news and
hope that some celebrity will do something absurd or a member of the Trump camp will say something outrageous, I would say the plan is, through its very nature, rather unreliable, and consequently, weak.
I do like some of the 24 hour titles, but some part of me secretly wishes that Topps will just put an end to this experiment (for, in essence, that's what it is, e.g. "Twitster") and just go back to releasing sets on a periodic basis. And I've a strong feeling I'm not alone in this regard. It feels like we're pigeons pecking at whatever is being thrown to us, whenever it is being thrown to us. I think we would all be more comfortable, though, with premium seed on a fixed schedule.
On another note, would anyone happen to know how much proceeds was generated from the Jay Lynch Tribute Set - and how Topps plans on utilizing said funds? Just curious.
