What titles do you like? I think this is a great one. I just noticed the 9 pin connector on top.

That's a fantastic one.  An instant classic, in my opinion.

Can't really explain why, but this is one of my favorites from the 50th:

Not a real product, but yet in my pop culture mind, it is.

Interestingly, according to the artist, although the product itself is generic, the design is based upon "Play-Doh."  It seems that on some parts of the 50th set, the artists were specifically told NOT to create parodies of real products; They had to be generic.  To appeal to more fans and collectors, though, the artist based his generic titles around actual product designs which would be familiar to and register with consumers.  If you check out the rest of the 50th set, you will find other titles that, although generic, also ring a distinct bell of familiarity.

Addendum:  Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a whole 9 card subset devoted to Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies - if said titles were all rendered in a similar fashion, that is, based upon actual product designs.  (Maybe because I grew up with these characters in my living room, they now somehow seem like old and familiar friends.)  I'll post the suggestion in more detail on my "Wordy" Ideas thread.  Some may want to stone me for my generic, un-Wacky blasphemy, yet so be it.

I love this card, and so do my kids. Of course, I raised them on Looney Tunes....  ;)

I think that one skirted just enough to have Looney Tunes call fowl, since its just Bugs feet and no face. Also the verbage skirts enough to indirectly reference. Well done

Both titles mentioned so far have been by the great, Smokin' Joe so, of course, they are awesome!  This series was interesting in that Topps was playing it by ear as the series came together.  Originally we were told that we had to use the actual names of the characters and shows we were parodying and only likenesses of actual characters were permitted.  I had done a parody with a generic character and was told to redo it.  Then (and this was months later) we were told we couldn't use actual names and had to parody the characters.  Also when painting we were told to eliminate perspective so that the product would fill as much of the card as possible.  This was because Topps had decided against the die-cut and since the entire card was the sticker, we needed to fill it.  This accounts for the forced perspectives in some of the art.  These rules were a bit flexible as you can see that not all the art conforms to them.  In the end, I'm not sure I ever 100% understood what Topps was after.  I was going for Wacky in my gags but for one reason or another, many weren't picked.  Here's a few that didn't go.

One gets the distinct impression that Topps never knew exactly 100% what they were after, either.  I would think that this must drive you artists mad.

As to "Charlie Sheen," well, this image is creepy and unnerving, not to mention downright scary!  Just look at the guy - and those eyes and smile.  Gives me the heebie-jeebies!

Postscript:  And just think!  You had to stare into the faces of that horrid man for hours on end, poor soul!  And probably dreamt of them, too!  Bet you never saw this coming when you first registered for art school!

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or on "This Week In Your Collection"...

I am generally not the type of collector to assemble a set of these, but having pulled the yellow from a box myself, it seemed natural to finish 'er off. I think it looks pretty cool. Anyone else working on this kinda thing?

Tom, very cool!  That set is truly one of a kind!  The medallions are a highlight of Wacky Packages 50th but those golds are just too hard to come by!

I redeemed more than one, but have not seen or heard anything.  I think the redemption card itself says something like that you have to wait 12 to 15 weeks --- which is absurd, but what can you do.....

At least if you redeem online, the Topps website retains a record of the redemption and so you should be able to at least see any redemptions as pending, on their website.

I'm wondering why there were redemption cards for the dual artist sketches. Why not just put them in the packs like all the other pano sketches were.

The reason provided by Topps was that they were not completed in time to be put into the packs and still make the promised mid-March release date.  But that doesn't explain why it takes 12-15 friggin' weeks to mail out the sketches once you've redeemed.

Hmmm, Odd. All the cards, including the dual artists were due on the same date. But yes 12 to 15 weeks is ridiculous.

I received mine as well yesterday - AFTER I wrote a NASTY letter suggesting a Class Action Suit!

I have a friend who has still not received his uncut Chrome Refactor Sheet.

They should have already had our items (duo sketch card) pulled ready, as they KNEW how many Redemption Cards were issued and for what.  I am glad you got yours and mine (they had until 11/15/17) to meet their published agreed upon delivery date.

The story I heard was that all the 50th dual cards were lost by the shipping company. That's why there was redemption cards and not actual sketches in the packs. We recently had to redo them so that is why it took so long.  somewhere out there is a fed ex box packed full of dual Wacky sketches that may or may not surface someday.

Richard

I had a Chrome Refractor Base Set Sheet Redemption Card. They never had those sheets made. After many phone calls; they made a deal with me to substitute a Chrome Base Set Sheet  AND GPK Sheet so that's what I got. I sold the GPK Sheet and kept the Chrome Sheet. I REALLY wanted that refractor sheet. Oh Well
