No packs at the local Target...
Was it actually cancelled though? The dates are the same.
(Or are you just saying that so I get paranoid of a longer wait)

I've got a painting in the series in the Crazy Video Game sub-set called Fractured Hole Wood Filler.  If anyone pulls any of the super rare chase items (gold, printing plate) I'd definitely be interested.

Could only hit one Target today. Friendly person located the latest Excel Boxes which turned out to be a week old so no new shipment today to scope out. Tomorrow more Targets.

More like black backgrounds right?  Gives them almost a 3D rendering.

Great price on the gravity feed. Cheaper than retail. I bought one. Will look good on the shelf!

yep, jus like the earlier black canvas, but without the texture. I think that style was far and away the favorite of most folks.

The black ones are really nice looking. The solid blue backgrounds are also. The purple and aqua "mod" backgrounds inspire nothing in me. Neither do the "maze" backgrounds.

luckily none of those 3 designs are background variations, they're just the ones used for three of the 'best of' chase cards.

Did you see that Forgers was picked as a Best of the 80s card.  Too funny as I wouldn't have pegged it as an 80's Wacky even though the Wacky Cans test series was from 1980.

Just saw the complete series and Im TOTALLY disappointed. Just a lot of made up current event, spur of the moment gags of which a vast majority are made up stuff. Not that many parody of actual products. Was expecting more but its not working for me. Will get a cheap set and bail on this set

Yeah the set looks a little disappointing... Most of the cards are just current events and celebrities. Not too many actual parodies.

Was expecting more...

The majority of artwork is very good, but some falls a bit flat and doesn't quite seem to meet the high standards I've come to expect and embrace.

I looked at the Wacky Packages 50 entries on eBay, one of them makes reference to the comic strip Peanuts, with Charlie Brown and Lucy! Finally! A Peanuts related Wacky Package! I guess it was done by J. Im and not as I thought by Mark Parisi.

I guess the Wacky Packages 50th. Does not have anything related to Star Wars - not even an entry from the never released 2014 Star Wars Wacky Packages series.

From what I've seen so far, I am very disappointed, too. Imagined a much different approach with all of the original series titles represented and honored in a big way but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Are there any classic titles in this set or is it just all new parodies?

Yes, the main base set is current celebrities, politicians, video game characters and super heroes. The subsets have some regular parodies along with the Old School subset.

Here's a few I did:

The chrome set released a few years ago was more fitting for a 50th anniversary celebration. Strange there are no Best of the 60s or 70s bonus cards!

There is the "past and present" 9 card subset:

It looks like the Old School sub-set also has the thin borders and doesn't have the classic Wacky die cut.  That's too bad as I had hoped those would be done that way at least!

Really outstanding artwork Dave!   Very impressive, as always.

They are thick borders. Look at any of the base set stuff. There is barely a black line.

Here's a base sticker next to an Old School sticker. I think the lines are drastically different.
