Dave, I see what you're saying but I'm just disappointed it's not a classic Wacky THICK border.  I had hoped that would be maintained for the Old School sub-set.

I'll ask if they can pump them up a bit more for the OLDS6 release. I'll take these lines over those teeny base set lines any day though. I like the cards with the full black or the blue bleed but the white or silver borders with the tiny black lines don't do it for me.

Being that this was the 50th anniversary set, I was mildly curious enough that I might go out and buy a few packs in the wild.  But after seeing what I've seen so far, I think I will be passing on this completely.  Are any of these actually stickers?

Dave, thanks, it would be cool if in your Olds 6 set you could convince Topps to thicken up the borders.  As far as the 50th base stickers, it looks to me like they decided against borders and just have an outline so the edges of the art wouldn't get lost against the background color.  Can we assume that due-cuts are no longer part of Wacky Packages?

They are *all* stickers.
They may lack die-cuts, but still stickers

The majority of artwork is very good, but some falls a bit flat and doesn't quite seem to meet the high standards I've come to expect and embrace.

That artwork is horrid...like the parody!

Shoot, I almost forgot, as today is the day, I should post my painting from the Wacky Packages 50th set.  Not sure if any forum members follow South Park but I tried to keep the gag fun and art colorful.  I like to refer to it as 'Fractured Hole Wood Filler' as the butt is silent.

Ugh. No Wackys for me today.
I wasn't home, so my UPS driver decided to be "helpful" by routing my (wacky) package to a local UPS Store. Packages have always just gone to the nearby warehouse, and then I can easily pick them up after work.
Except this time, and now my package is fubar'd in their system with no way for me to get it tonight from the warehouse like I usually do.

I see a redemption card up on eBay for one of the dual pano sketches. that seems to be a first.
I guess that means topps at least realized putting the pano cards in the packs would be too easy to search for.
Although the pano's were only supposed to be in the Collector boxes, which aren't searchable, so a bit of a mystery.

one update to what topps had promised for the set and then didn't deliver on - the black ludlows were supposed to be #'d to 99. But they are only to 25.

Patrick, I saw that and questioned it as well.  They certainly had all the cards (all sketch cards are submitted at the same time) so why not include them?  It's actually a bit of a bummer as I had hoped to score one of the ones I did with Fred but now you don't know what you're gonna get!

The artists autos are also out of 25 which I imagine means they're fairly common in collector's boxes and should come down in cost quick.

ah nice, a boost from the usual 15

totally different topic - but I'm seeing two different value boxes. I think that means there's finally one for Target and another for Wal*mart again

Just saw the complete series and Im TOTALLY disappointed. Just a lot of made up current event, spur of the moment gags of which a vast majority are made up stuff. Not that many parody of actual products. Was expecting more but its not working for me. Will get a cheap set and bail on this set

I hate to say it, but I agree.  Too much politics and pop culture and current events, not enough product parodies.  Great artwork by the usual suspects, but not exactly what I was expecting in terms of content.....

Well I can't say I disagree.  We did the set last year before the flood of PoDs.  At that point it seemed a bit fresher to me.  Now, I'd be happy to never see a political Wacky again!  Hopefully with PoD more than filling that market, we can get back to the tried and true Wacky formula.

So the first of the oversized art cards have hit eBay and they look super fun.  Also wrapped to ensure freshness!

Do those replace the box toppers that were in the collector boxes in the past? Are there 10 cards?
They look nice.

Thanks everyone, glad you like the OLDS cards. I think the 6th series is even better, I got to do a lot of products I've always wanted to include plus cigarettes and alcohol are back in it.

Hooray!  It made no sense to remove the cigs and alcohol products, when (1) they were fully included in Chrome and (2) there are plenty of Wackies, like Wheez-It and Barman, where it's not an alcohol product but there's an alcohol theme, and those have been ok "for the most part."

Always wanted to do a Star Trek Wacky and as they say, be careful what you wish for.  Can't say anything about the final card but here's the gag I designed for any Star Trek fans out there!
