1973 Test (Long) Posters 21/24 for sale
« on: October 06, 2016, 08:10:07 PM »
Hi All,
I recently picked up a partial (all but the 3 tough titles) set of 1973 long "test" posters. I purchased the set to upgrade a few titles in my keeper set. These are much tougher to find than the more common 1974 poster release. I've been keeping an eye out for these for many years now and they don't come along very frequently.

I don't know if there are any '73 poster collectors here, so I'm posting to find out before I list on ebay.

I'd prefer to sell the lot as a set, however, if that doesn't work out, I will consider selling them individually. I'll work the best deal for the posters as a lot to minimize my time in handling the transaction. Individual titles will sell for more than a per poster cost if I sell as a lot.

Please PM with your interest.
Thanks

Do a lot of people collect the posters based upon whether they are 1973 or 1974 versions?  I have a set of 24, but it is probably about half and half.

Being a variation junkie, I do.

It doesn't appear many people either make or know about the distinction between the sets & most collect the 27 different titles vs the 2 sets of 24. For those that do collect the 2 sets, they know how hard the test posters are to find.

The posters are a childhood favorite of mine - I was given a box when I had chicken pox!

I bought a complete set of 73 and 74 posters from Ernie when I first got on the forum in 04. I've since added a full box and extras of the 3 tough cereals and have two framed in my music room.

I erred - I actually have the 27 different titles, just forgot to count in the 3 replacements.  It has always seemed like a pain to distinguish them by the sizes, especially once they are safely stored in a portfolio, as mine are.  I figure probably half of my set are 73 posters since they are my childhood keepers, and I had 3 of the cereal posters (my only double was actually a Cheapios!) in that group of 14, but none of the replacements.
