I was starting to fall behind! Here's Quake 'n Ache next to Shake 'n Bake...

And another title where a gag was removed from the original art (or in this case covered up) before printing the stickers:

Giving "The Hobby" the finger since 1999!

Maybe I would have liked it better with the extra tag line, but this one is still middle of the pack for me.

Think Pat was referring to Quake 'n' Ache, not Heave.

Chef Girl-Ar-Dee and Chef Boy-Ar-Dee. I can't help but wonder if the woman on the parody was depicted as a lesbian.

It would be interesting to poll the top 10 Wackies for which Forum members use the Wacky name rather than the actual product name.  With so many Band Ache stickers now being available from the Chrome issue, I certainly have one stuck on my metal tin of Band Aids!  And I occasionally brush with Crust.

I made a magnet of Crust and it is on the medicine cabinet in my bathroom, right above my toothpaste   :P

You're treading on dangerous ground     :-[    She is wearing a pearl necklace.

Regarding the reference to the use of "Ms." in the parody, is it OK these days to use that term?

What is the proper etiquette / politically correct protocol?

Do you call your lady "Miss Swiski"?

I like the gag, and the goofy horse is great.  Don't recall any other horses on OS Wackys.

didn't see this one as a kid, as my 4th series set had a lot of gaps.
finally saw it many years later and was disappointed. was too simplistic and one-note of a joke.  the plain white box side looks like little time was spent on this one.
Plus, I never made the connection as to why an Indian War Horse is depicted on the cover? (circle around the eye and a feather headdress)
Maybe just to add some flair for what would otherwise have been a dull image?

my improvements would be to add something to the box side and to improve the color registry. the red seems blown out on the horse bib and bowl. And often the purple box is not uniform and looks like a disaster.

I'm thinking it's because the logo would then go too far around the other side so you's only see Liquid Plumb.

Yep, that's one goofy horse! Honestly, I don't think horses were Norm's strongest suit, not to say they weren't great, but by his standards, I think there were other animals (cats and dogs, for example) that he preferred to paint.

Anyway, here's a few more really good horses from the OS: Weakinson Blades, Mare Cigarettes, and Muleburro.

To me, one of the most memorable titles from the OS stickers. The pasta is funny too, and I recall seeing pornographic pasta in a Sausalito tourist gag shop around that same time that made me laugh as a tweenager. A

I showed this one to the librarian at my jr high school because I told him it reminded me of him. He laughed but I'm sure it was a rueful chuckle....A

I think the parody on the product name is good on this one, but doesn't tie into anything else with the product or its properties.   My friends and I did indeed call each other morons (and regrettably, the now, even less politically correct  name, retards) all the time. So I guess I related at that level. This was certainly a familiar product in our home at the time. Another case where, for me, the character was just not that memorable.

Ok, am going back ALOT of pages, but I always found this one funny. First off, it was such a familiar item around the home and secondly, to a kid, the original tag line never made sense and this parody just made it funny. I do remember a few lines from the commercial - when it rains, it pours, and it did, and it does, and you're cute....which was referring to the picture of the girl on the salt can. Where of course, Wacky's decided to give a really obnoxious leer! A

Funny, I always thought Bum Chex was based on Bran Chex but it looks like Wheat Chex is a much better match.

It's possible the parody was based on Bran Chex. I couldn't find a photo of a box with a close design except the Wheat Chex.

Was Bran Chex a thing in the early  '70s?  I only remember wheat, rice and corn.  Seems like the bran and multi-grain phase come in the  '80s.

I just noticed an inset image of Scotch Tape packaging used for Screech tape is on the Wheat Chex box. I will have to save that for a future comparison!

After a quick search, it seems as though Bran Chex didn't even come out until 1978, which would mean that  Bum Chex was most certainly based on the Wheat Chex box.

Scot, that is too funny!  The second I saw that box, I showed to my wife and said "Worst Free-Inside ever!"
