I kinda like the notion you would buy it to smell like an athlete. I could only find one advertisement picture for comparison.

Once again, not much to work with on the packaging, but I think the gag is good, and I like the characters that were added.

I still don't know why anyone would name a soap "Sweetheart"   :-\

Agreed.  It is rather strange.  Somehow as if the soap in the ad was a actually a real life Wacky parodying some other soap.

Lova and Lava. Didn't understand why they needed to change the word. They could have just added a word after Lava in the parody.

I never did get this one, but they did a good job perking up the packaging!

I think Jay said Lova was a form of "Lover" that was popular back in the day. So maybe the "It erupts" line fits and was more risqué than we suspected!

I think this is one of the weakest parodies in this series.

nice art, but yeah, one of the weakest.

maybe go the silly route:  Lama. Fleece-Powered! The Pack Animal Soap.

sure, could be 2 L's to spell it right, but it's a wacky.

"It's just natural, it's not a great disaster. People keep talking about it like it's The End of The Earth. It's only a rock group that split up, it's nothing important. You know, you have all the old records there if you want to reminisce." - John Lennon quote after the Beatles break-up

So in the modern age of overdone parallel cards or online exclusive Trump parodies, lets continue to reminisce and celebrate what makes vintage Wacky Packages so great!

Here is the next in line for the 3rd Series - 1.A. compared to A.1.

So, out of the blue comes a pretty politically charged Wacky for it's time. How many today would get the 1A and 4F references? Although not much in the artwork department, I think this was a pretty clever and perhaps one of the more subtle parodies of this set, although admittedly, the "shake well to become 4F" and "Heck no! You won't go!" tag lines don't really tie back to the original product in any way. Certainly a departure from most Wackies of this time period.

So do I.  I even sold my Superfractor of it.  But for some reason I don't mind Grave Train or Choke Wagon.  I think it's because of the arrow in the bird, whereas there is nothing comparable in the two dog Wackies.

I agree, would have been so much better with the bird choking on a pull tab, or better yet a pull tab around its neck. The arrow has the connotation that it was shot by a human to kill the bird and nothing to do with the garbage(which I love on this one) in the product killing the bird. As a small child I thought it was a bit sad. I think its actually the blood that hits home.

I guess the product name was a pretty easy change, and the packaging and guns are well done, but this one never did much for me gag-wise.

another one like Lova, where the actual product name is correct for the gag, but the name had to be altered to nonsense so it can be a Wacky.
unique in that there's background painting behind the guns, so that they'd stand out against what would otherwise be a black background.
the only change I'd make is to reverse the order of the points in the target. Highest points in the center, and dropping lower toward the outer circle

Yep I noticed that a long time ago and thought it was clever, but someone posted a pic from I believe a 1969 Mad Magazine cover that had done this first, with of course Alfred E. in the bullseye for the lowest score.
Still looking for Series 17

I'd be curious to know if the original brand name was intended to be a reference to the gun maker.

Always like the comparisons with the actual products.

(Not that it would be practical or feasible or cost-effective, but it would be nice to have a Wacky Packages Museum, which, among other displays, the physical products could be featured alongside of their respective stickers.  Double the nostalgia.)
