Tied is one of those wackys that's so visually unique. Just the rings of color make me love it.

I really like Tied.  The remade product name, the gag, the character - I wouldn't change a thing!

I am biased against all reused titles so I perhaps don't give the 2nd version a fair look.  I think it is lazy that products have to be repeated.

I'm with you on this. I remember as a kid feeling cheated when they repeated products.

I also really like this one. Funny, great character, and the open can looks fantastic. I think this would be another good example to use if you were introducing someone to Wackys.

Yeah the "Heavily" was a stretch, but it works considering the title.

I always thought this one was clever. Not only is it a homophone, but it also does it by rearranging the same 4 letters. You do your laundry and the clothes come out in a knot. It works for me. Plus, my family used Tide so that was always a bonus.

Agreed. I loved this one as a kid.  I really like the expression on the poor guys face with his laundry all tied up.  Simple, but memorable.

Me, too. I can understand why they did it, but in a perfect world every Wacky would be a different product, and repeats would only be allowed if every product in existence was already parodied!

Diecuts #28 - Breadcrust

Breadcrust
Corned Beef Hash
1% Corned Beef
99% Breadcrust

Real Product
Broadcast
Corned Beef Hash

Art = Good, Gag = Bad. They never even changed corned beef hash! How could they?
Maybe it could've been "Bored Beef Hash" but it's better than no difference.

This is the only photo I found of the exact Broadcast Corned Beef Hash can, and it's from a YouTube video. Anyone have a better image?
The 2nd photo is obviously a more modern can design.

That's as good as anything I have. Here's the Wacky for completeness.
I was never a fan of this title. Seems forced.

This was never one I cared much for.  I think it was partly because I was completely unfamiliar with the product, and partly because I never understood why a person and a dog were eating from the same plate.

Yeah I never really heard of Broadcast until now. I've only known of Hormel as a "name brand".

Doesn't look like the artists had much to go with.  They at least gave the bottle a little depth, and the gag isn't bad.

I've always liked this card, not sure why.

Below is Horrid and a photo of the Arrid can. Simple, eye-catching, but I wish a green mist with flies or something would be spraying out of the nozzle.
I'm sure everyone knows this, but the can the guy is holding in his hand shows the A in Arrid.

Another one where there was not much to play off of from the original packaging. Decent product title parody. Who doesn't like cartoon skunks? No one in our family used this product so no personal connection.

I like this one quite a bit.  A green mist coming out of the nozzle would have been cool, but might have taken up too much vertical space to let the can match the product proportions.  Flies on the can label near the guy would have worked.

for me, this one is elevated in awesomeness by not having the boring white can lid in place. Shows off a fantastic rendering of the metal and nozzle on the can top.

Have to agree. Comparing the Wacky to the pic of the can really drives that point home.

And I love that gross character.

Another iconic wacky. Great artwork. Nice product parody. Tag lines tie in nicely although I didn't understand the grapevine reference until I asked my Dad and he explained that's how information was spread in prison... via the grapevine, ie. by word of mouth. always loved the file in the clear jello image and the guard incompetency it implied.

It's one sentence.  "Rats enjoy these crackers"  Not  "RATS.  Enjoy these crackers."
