It's almost that time of the year again! JUNE 9 - The 11th Annual "Officially Unofficial National Wacky Packages Day" is almost upon us!!! For regular forum members, you probably already know how this works: we spend the day swopping wacky stories about collecting and general wacky lore and maybe some wacky trivia! It's a ton of fun and games and maybe they'll even be a giveaway or something

Happy Wacky Packages Day!

My story is about a WP serindipity situation. I was front row at Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden. There was a girl named Cindy standing next to me who rocked out like there was no tomorrow. Her energy was infectious and she got our whole area going crazy for most of the show. I decided to get her name and address from her and mailed her a really cool Pearl Jam promotional door mat that I had framed. My friend got it from a Epic Records rep and we decided she was the ultimate fan and deserved it. About two year later I saw Pearl Jam again at the same place. She knew I was going and she met me and gave me a binder with a bunch of signed 5" x 7" copies of Wacky Packages Artist drawings from her brother who happens to be George Wright. The binder also included the actual WP cards signed by George in gold ink. I left the Garden with an awesome binder that I treasure today. We had discussed my love of music and Wackies at that first show.

My favorite story was going to the Philly Show with my daughter for the first time ( for her) and finding Greg Grant there with none other than Jay Lynch signing posters of the 1-16 run for OS Wacky Pack Boxes in Gold addressed to her. He signed a couple Wacky's as well - great time - lucky time for her to meet Jay!!

A big thanks to Neil for making Hog n Dogs a reality. For years my wife and daughters have loved Haagen Dazs bars. One night last year when we were having them for desert my daughter Violet (age 7 at the time) was looking intently at the box. When I asked what was wrong she said, "So, they're not called Hog n Dogs bars?" It turns out that's what she had always thought they were called. We had a good laugh and talked about what a good Wacky Package that would make. Finally I got ahold of Neil to see if he could do anything with the idea. It turned out so much better than I ever imagined. I can't wait for the card to show up so Violet can see the newest Wacky Package. I know she will be blown away and love Wackys more than ever! Thanks Neil for making this a great Wacky Day!
