Wacky Box

Found this at our local Target yesterday.  It's leftover Wacky stock repackaged by the Fairfield company which is a division of the Excell Company.  Not officially Wacky but pretty close.

I will keep a lookout for that box. Pretty good value. Maybe contains a superfractor?

Had a request from Andrew for the DCPI code for the box which is 055062687.  Also here's a pic of the back.

The local Target has them here as well and on the surface 16 packs for $9.99 doesn't seem bad but why do I think these innards are from old, previously searched and molested packs?

Time will tell......would need to see if any Forum buyers find sketch cards or (what would be a Christmas miracle) a superfractor.

I am hoping to find some of these. Does anyone know if there are 8 Chrome and 8 ANS?

I found one, and only one.  It had 3 Chrome, 5 ANS12 (2014 Series 1), and 8 ANS11.

Thanks. Not enough chrome for me to buy these. I just saw a 108 value pack case of Chrome from DA Cardworld on ebay for $356 or Best Offer. There are 324 retail 4 card packs in that case. So that works out to about $1.00 per pack if you can get the case for $324 shipped. I am tempted to get one to chase the altered art or Superfractor cards. No Golds or Blues ; but they are done up with basically no resale value.

I wish Cardsone, which makes packages of comic book and sport/non sport card packs and collecting sets, did this...

I found one (and only one) of these boxes at our Target.  If anyone here on the Forum wants it you can have it for cost plus shipping.

I was at two different Targets yesterday.  Both had the boxes, but each store had different configurations of what was in them.  One store seemed to have half Chrome and half some other series (I seriously can't even tell them apart any more).  The other store had what appeared to be about three Chrome packs and the rest a different series from the first store.  I bought one box but haven't opened it yet; may just keep it sealed.  Wouldn't have bought one if it weren't for the Chrome packs, but I couldn't quite resist getting a small Wacky fix.

I don't know for sure what is in the box I found either.  There are no Chrome packs showing through the front.  What I can see on the left side is one of those packs with the clear window front.  The sticker showing is "Brainy Towels".  The right side has one of the orange packs with the "Fruit of the Moon" image on it (like in the other picture posted).

I find the text on the back of the box interesting:

"The products in this package have been purchased directly from the manufacturer or purchased from the secondary market and repackaged for retail by the Fairfield Company."

With that statement, someone's earlier comment wondering if these are full of previously searched packs, may be spot on.

It is old inventory but I wonder if it's from unopened boxes rather then unsold partial boxes.  Regardless I was with Tom on this one and just needed a winter Wacky fix!

I just opened my Wacky Box and was pleasantly surprised to find 8 packs of Chrome and 8 packs of ANS11.  Each side had four of each type of pack, with the Chrome packs on top of one side and the ANS11 on top of the other side.  I thought the side with ANS11 on top consisted of 8 packs of ANS11.  I believe the Chrome packs were the ones that came out of the bonus boxes, but my memory has faded on which packs came from which boxes.

Anything interesting in the contents? :)

I actually found one sketch card (from 2014 Series 1), but for me it wasn't a keeper.

I opened seven of each type of pack.  Nothing too extraordinary, probably just the correct ratio of colored borders, subsets, etc.  Got a magnet, which is one of the only subsets I like these days, but it was not a title I really cared for.  Still, a cheap Wacky fix.

My wife got me these Chrome Value Packs the other day.  I don't know if these have been discussed on here before or not as I haven't been keeping that close of watch on all the various combo and value packs.

These look like the ones that were sold at toysrus, where the bonus pack is a set of 4 standard base cards, vs the ones sold at target that had a set of 4 atomic refractors included

I was able to buy 9 of these on the bay at less than $1.00 per pack of 4 chrome cards.

She found these at a Calendar Store in a local mall here.  One of those seasonal stores that sells calendars, games, and other stuff like that at Christmas Time.

I couldn't see the PKG # until I peeled back the flap.

It is one of the ones on the Chrome Master List:

how do you like the, "I really wanted to open this. But my loss is your gain!" as if you need to spend more to get this "error" box. I guess someone would be interested? Me... not really

Me neither.

I also thought that remark a bit odd. What loss are they referring to? Not destroying the package/contents by opening it is a loss? The auction ending for less than they paid is a loss? Ah, all is not loss.   :-\ :P

Just received two of the Wacky Boxes in the mail. I have never seen these in person before. Pulled 8 Chrome packs out of two boxes.
These boxes are much smaller than I thought they would be. Interesting. They just looked bigger on ebay.
