Mitch, so glad you dug it!  In terms of it being a first, maybe for an ANS Wacky but I suspect there have been a ton of custom items based on the original series.

Joe, mine arrived yesterday.  At first I thought it was an eBay mixup where a seller shipped me somebody else's item.  I never expected anything like this!  Don't want to give away the surprise, but what a fantastic concept!  I'm blown away.  Thank you so much!

Wendy & Joe, Thank you a Wacking lot (that doesn't sound quite right... I'll go back an fix it later)... For the Wacky Holiday greeting card and Bego kit. Really cool. Although those kits are soooo time consuming to put together... Who can figure out those instructions? At least I'll have something to keep me busy over the holidays! Card and Bego are keeping my Charlie Brown Christmas tree company. Merry Christmas to you. Have a great one.  - Smokin' Joe

Mike, Smokin' Joe and Patrick you're welcome and tis the season to be Wacky.  Joe, my 11 year old son Josh came up with the instructions and assured me they were adult safe!  Perhaps if you have a young nephew or niece they'll help you out.

Does anyone know the precise real product name of the Lego set that the Bego Shanty Town parody is based on?  When the latest ANS set came out over the summer I tried to find an image but had no luck.

Was this unreleased art originally planned to be a billboard sticker back entry?

Darryl, no Elk was just a gag Paul and I submitted for WP 2015.  I reformatted it to fit a postcard which is why it has a bit of a billboard feel.

Ah, this explains why I couldn't find it.  You had to embellish a bit to develop the parody, rather than the usual formula of finding something that rhymes with the real product name.  And Lego has a million different sets at any given time.  I did have better luck finding the 'Frauds' (Friends) product, also from the latest set.  The ANS era has racked up a nice little variety of Lego parodies.  Would be nice to see one in the next Old School series if we see another one.

Interesting you should choose this for your Christmas surprise idea.  My brothers and I grew up on Legos, and it was predominantly a Christmastime thing, so this really hit home in a cool way.

Richard, thanks for posting all those scans.  Yup, that's the Holiday Treat in a nutshell except the signed Explo.  That was something I had promised you earlier and so I snuck in there as a little extra.

Tom, that's too cool that Lego was a big part of your Christmas past and so glad that Bego fit right in.  I never had Legos as a child but having kids today, you can't avoid them!

All Hail Giant Joe!

Richard, I appreciate the enthusiasm but save some for upcoming Wackys as we've passed the ten year mark on ANS and it's gonna take a bit to keep 'em going! Also I'm actually just short of 6' so a giant, not so much.
