I think these belong in the "NUTZ" thread.

I couldn't agree more.  I'm not into the whole PSA thing.  I think anyone who shows the PSA population in support of their price is begging.  I'd be willing to bet that there are a lot more out there that would be graded just as high, but most people really aren't into paying to get their cards graded.

In the case of the Irish test series, there aren't others out there that would grade as high, but hardly anyone really cares about the set. It's a cool story, but the set has zero nostalgia and for anyone to pay a fortune for it they would have to be a real high grade completist.

there was an entire set auctioned off one-by-one in slabs from toppsvault. Got a couple of them myself. I'm thinking they'd grade really high, but I haven't examined their corner sharpness under a microscope like PSA does, so I'm not sure just how high they'd go.

Were they unscored though?

Had to go dig them out.
yep. unscored proof items.
so they are undamaged by a die-cut, which means they score 11's.  ;)

The nostalgia level is there but my wallet isn't even close. Cool piece of Wacky history but not worth all the grading and hoopla. I think people in Ireland thought one day these would be a pot of gold.
