Yo Brad,

Where are the Blowout Pre-orders for Collector boxes?  This delay "Blows"

I like the smaller series in the beginning 30 or 33 and only 9 of the subsets or bonus...... just makes sheet sense!

I certainly agree that 9 for inserts makes sense but in terms of the base set, the more the better!  Was the past record ANS 6 with 80 cards?

Really? You give the guy who provides all of us this forum less than 24 hours to respond to you and you post something like this? Excuse me, but you're an a$$hat.

You are correct. I was out of line and deserved that. Sorry. No excuse for that on my end.

looks like the 2015's missed out on getting into the Previews magazine.
but it did finally show up in the Previews Plus segment this week (although orders must be in by March 23? that's crazy)

maybe that means Blowout, Potomac and all the rest will start offering them???

I did not buy a box of this series either. One or two of these artists must be working for free - it's the only thing I can think of as a reason to have them doing wackys. Only Topps could kick off 2015 Series 1 with the proverbial balloon deflating all over the room. BBG

Wacky Packages 2015 can't be released early!

I hope tfaw.com and/or Westfield Comics includes it on the pre-order list for April 2015!

And what is PREVIEWS PLUS? A weekly pre-order supplement in print and/or online?

guess not. this says 6/10, which is a week *later* than the sales flyer and cardboard connection dates.

exactly. a weekly pre-order update for any items that showed up too late to make it into the monthly magazine.
Wacky 2015 should have been in the March book, but it's not, and the April book will be too late to place orders.

Yep . Kind of strange.
At least they finally showed up in their non-sport forum page, so they aren't being completely ignored. Just mostly.

A question. Since the ANS run ended with no.11, and the one for 2014 was labeled "Series 1", shouldn't this one be 2015 Series 2, and anything after that Series 3,4,5, etc.?

If that were the case, it would have been 2014 Series 12. They're restarting the numbering each year.

Also I think the original idea was to have two Wacky sets last year.  This year the set is called Wacky Packages 2015 Sticker Series which leads me to believe there will only be one (unlike Sith Lords).

as Joe G mentions, it's set up so that if there are two in a year, they can have multiple series.
Like with their baseball card sets or Garbage Pail Kids, which did have two sets last year

Absolutely, Norm Saunders set the bar high.  I rarely post negative stuff about new art since I don't want to offend the artist, but at some point we have to speak up, or possibly watch the demise of the Wackys we so enjoy.  I'm hopeful that this criticism will be accepted in a way that results in better Wackys, and a longer life for the series.

As an artist myself, the art execution on some of these recent releases has been embarassing. I would prefer a shorter set with top notch execution. Also the product line has been repetitive with some cereals- Froot Loops and Frosted Flakes get worse with time.

There are so many products out there now, I cant believe that they have to resort to the usual suspects.

I wonder why Blowout does not have pre-orders up for this release?  Did they pass on this one due to slow sales on the last release?

Mike, I can tell you that 7 of the 9 gags I did for WP 2015 are new products but it's still a challenge each set to find new products to parody.  I remember hearing that after 8 sets of the original Wacky Packages Art Speigleman complained to Woody Gelman (or perhaps it was Len Brown) that they had run out of products to parody.  Well we must be near 1000 gags in ANS, so as much as we try to come up with new products there will always be some repetition.

I agree. There is nothing wrong with repetition. It's nice seeing products spoofed more than once. But what Choke_Wagon was getting at was he is tired of seeing Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops so many times. How about Sugar Pops, Reeses Puffs or General Mills Breakfast Best or Kellogg's Fun Pack, the latter two "Snatch-A-Pak style?

We've always been told, although indirectly, to feel free and come up with new parodies for very well-known
titles, ones that the younger crowd will recognize, so that may be why you see several versions of Lucky Charms, Frosted Flakes, etc.  You see the box and the colors, you know the brand.

As we wait for the next Wacky Pack release I think it is worth mentioning that IMO it is pretty cool that Topps STILL releases new Wackies in 2015.

I hope this continues and the hobby does not revert back to the "dormant" phase which we lived with prior to ANS1. I also collect some cereal items and that hobby

has very little "New" news. At least we still have a hobby where Topps could "Wow" us tomorrow with a new surprise release tied to Wackies.

Spoke to Topps Cust Serv today looking into the continuing saga of my Chrome Refractor Sheet and also inquired about future WP Releases. No news other than many ideas are being discussed and new WP releases are forthcoming.

I hope that last part is true.  The new series leaves me feeling unimpressed and I don't know of anything else to come.  It doesn't seem like Topps is putting much effort into Wackys and my interest is definitely declining.

You're really just going to sit there and listen to "Topps" cust ser tell you, "they don't know when your sheet will appear"

Start moving up the chain of command! If you don't get a satisfactory answer when you call, ask to speak to their supervisor...if you still don't get an answer ask for their supervisor.

Honestly Dr Deal, there is NO ONE looking for your sheet. If you don't take this matter into your own hands I'm afraid you will never get it.
