I agree considerably. One of the memories which always comes back to me whenever I look at the original series stickers/art is that I recall thinking how much the stickers looked like the actual packaging, right down to many details. Yes, it was a simpler time and more difficult to misrecognize a package, but every one of those painted by Norm nailed it. Not so much with today's Wackys. I mean no offense to today's artists, but Norm is a hard act to follow...
There's no reason to believe any of us would be posting here today on a Wacky forum, if it weren't for Norm Saunders. He's only the single biggest reason for wacky's success). But...(I love to stir the pot
) I'd like to offer this:
if Norm had a weakness in his art, it was horses. Compare his horses to his other animal art and you'll see what I mean (I think). Skunks, dogs, cats, beavers...you name it, he nails it. But compared to these critters, his horses seem to be missing some horsepower. Just saying...
