There hasn't been any discussion of the underground Lost Wacky series that came out from 05-07. It's an interesting story whose details are lost on the old forum but worth repeating.
In the late 90s, Duane Dimock produced some home-made lost Wackys:
Midget Rice, Monsterettes, Fool-Aid, Buggies, Fool-Aid (1961 Mad Ad), Gooya
The first two came in one 'set', the second in another, with the 1961 Fool-Aid as a bonus. I think he made Gooya shortly after ANS1 came out but I can't remember.
In 2005, Rusty Erpenbeck collected a bunch of lost images and self-produced a set on his home printer and stock paper. It was OK but nothing like a real die-cut Wacky. I have two series:
Series 1 (Unique images from the Ads, Die-Cuts and Posters):
Alcohol Seltzer, Boredom's, Campy, Cracked Animals, Cracked Jerk, Coronation, De-Mented, Fearstone, Garbage Baby Food, Good And Empty, Guerrilla Milk, Jolly Mean Giant, Melty Way,
Metrekill, Moron Salt, Muller, Ratz, Schmutz, Sludgsickle, Slum Maid, Toadal, Wacky Garbage
Series 2 (Lost Wackys):
Cranked, Doglix, Growgerm, Harassame Street, Mixwell Hearse, Reejeek, A'cent, Aquax, Coma, Dr. Peeper, Foney, Forger's, Hawaiian Punks (Can version), Libber's, Pigs Blue Ribbon, Pro-Grossout,
Tropicanine, White Duck, Ajerx (alternate version), Creeps, Usneeze, Bacteria, Slacker Jack, Jujubats, 5th Series rerun checklist, Sneer puzzle
He also produced a card for the 1999 reunion Wacky, Upchuck's Barf Stew.
I didn't get involved with Greg's forum until 2004, and there clearly had been lots of discussion about this stuff. Does anyone have background info on Rusty and Duane? How'd they acquire the images in the first place?
I'll detail Greg's two Lost Series next.
