I question Nestle Crunch King Size(2284) - this was pulled from the 5th series, right? I don't think that variation existed at the time.

I've just got back from vacation and received your list in the mail, I'll get to it this week, thanks!

Jason found a matching wrapper for it not too long ago that seems to back up that variation back in the early 70's

I was looking at Jason's Wacky Wednesdays articles and found something interesting-283 is Pom Poms, not Dum Dums.

Good catch on the Pom Poms! That's a long-standing error, I got the original series notes from Greg's old site.

I've got a question. I saw something that said Toadal was going to originally be a sticker in one of the 1973 series before it became a poster. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Also,I think that the rest of the 1970s posters should say ''Repainted by Norm Saunders"so that that section will be complete.

I'd say confirmed.
Quote from: wackypackages.org
The famous Toadal poster was also a title intended for this [8th] series, however it was already cease-and-desisted due to its release in the 1973 poster series. So it was pulled before production and replaced with Bone Ami which was not originally intended for this series. This information comes from Jay Lynch's list of the titles originally slated for the 8th series.

OK,next question. If Bone Ami wasn't meant for the 8th series, which one was it meant for?

A few corrections here! "Painted..."and "then later...''(587),"Repainted..."(588),Nestle's Crunch(1473 & 2963)[please tell me if I'm wrong about these two],The Avengers(2156)[I was right the first time on this one] and "1999 Philly Non-Sports Card Show"(3406).

it may just be that topps needed to fill in the gap and commissioned another piece during production, meaning it was always part of the 8th, just a late addition.

unless some proof sheets show up indicating otherwise, I think this is most likely

I think all of the posters should simply say 'painted', not 'repainted', as these are all entirely new renditions of the gag, at a completely different size and not replacement art for stickers.

and with Toadal, I don't feel it should say 'originally intended for 8th series', just 'intended for 8th series'. There are 4 other titles that came out in the poster set prior to showing up in the 8th series. this one just happened to get C&D'd before getting there.

Nestle Crunch - I think the distinction is correct. The product was called "Nestle's Crunch" in the 70s and by 2007 when it was next parodied it became "Nestle Crunch".

I use 'repainted' to indicate a new gag. I could also just add a (Poster version) suffix for the gag title.

Mitch,do you think you should put the Wacky Patches in the Master Spreadsheet? They seem to have been a major item back in the day.

Also, how about the Wacky Packages Tattoos? After all,the first six tattoos in OLDS5 were made for that set,but never released-until now. Finally,I forgot to mention that my last post includes the test patches(however many there were).

Rusty's site has sections on both the tattoos and patches. That should probably tell you much of what you need to know. Also,I just thought of something else that could be put in the spreadsheet-the 1986 Album Series, which was made but never released-i.e.,the stickers were finished and ready to go but never saw the light of day.As far as I know,Topps only had stickers-there's no known album for them.Again,lostwackys.com has a page telling all about them. You can do with this info as you wish-I just figured that these are part of Wackys history and should be listed as well.

I just found out Greg's site also has articles on the 1986 Album Series and the tattoos, but sadly not the patches.Plus, the tattoos and patches both came out in 1974.These two, along with the 1970's posters, were most likely the major spin-offs of the OS stickers

Not sure what you mean by this. Many of us have sets and/or boxes of '86 album stickers. You're right about the album itself, though.

Anyone care? Website address names are not case sensitive, anyway. If you type in MySpace.com or Myspace.com, you'll go to the same site. Mixed case names are strictly for the readability to humans; browsers and DNS (domain name servers) translate to all lower case.

Forgot to ask-are you going to put in the Wacky Packages Tattoos and the Wacky Patches(both 1974)as requested on previous posts? Remember, the first six of the tattoos from OLDS5 were intended for the '74 tattoos but never released until now. And they, along with the '73-'74 posters, were the major spin-offs of the stickers. Finally,lostwackys.com has the info on both releases. Oh,almost forgot-the 1986 Album Series should be considered,too.Again,lostwackys.com has the scoop on that,too-and Greg's site mentions only the album series and the tattoos(but not the patches, sadly).
