10 Hobby Cases - Collectors Edition - The Journal
« on: November 11, 2014, 08:38:19 AM »
My guys will be breaking 10 (up to 15) Collectors Cases of WP tomorrow. I'll post the results of each case here so that you guys can get a feel for card allocation and any other hits. If anyone is looking for anything in particular just PM me (or email me at manager@downtownbreaks.com). This will be son's first non-sports case break (he's only 6)...so I'm excited to go through a case or two with him!

Brad, looking forward to your thoughts about the new series.  From what I've seen it's the best new set in a while.

Yes, they said they will be shipping on Tues and Wed of this week. I ordered mine overnight so it may have been flagged for priority.

Blowout cards are out of collector cases. I know cuz I just ordered 2 more and that is all they had since I wanted 3. The price went up a bit thought.
These collector cases are the way to go. There are so many different things that pop up in them you have no idea what the next card you turn will be. It's really fun. So far really like the series. I haven't had time to review every card but seeing the artwork as I open packs looks really good.

What do the medallions look like? And are the sketches shaped?

Alright boys, this has been a BLAST. Through Case 1 here are the results:

8 Auto's (Smith Sister, Chumps, Thefty, Snob Balls, Campy, Dr. Ono, Slatex, Dr. Popper)
1 Lost Wacky (Snore Caps)
1 Cloth (Mr. Stubble)
7 Gold
7 Pencils
6 Ludlow Back
1 Red Ludlow Back
3 Medallion (Play Dumb, De-Mented, Commie)
6 Bonus Stickers

Seriously, a GREAT set. The Collectors cases are loaded. They apparently didn't run the pressed on this one!

If you want any of these...you can PM me your offers. I'll be keeping some...

You got 3 medallions in one case? I've got two more cases coming in tomorrow. I'm hoping to get more. Are you opening up all your cases today? I would like to get a set of the medallions if possible. I got 2 red luds in one pack. They were stuck together...lucky for me :]

I just reread your list. When you mean auto's do you mean sketches? You must have gotten one of the loaded packs. Correct?

The autos are all sketch cards.... Is that normal? A few are colored...like Dr. Ono

Looks like what you're describing as "autos" are actually sketch cards.

Did you get the same 3 medallions in 2 cases? I'm trying to figure out how many there are. Plus you got the same patch also?  Wonder how many patches also. I'm going to guess 10 of each.

So....I thought I received the same medallion...until I looked closer. There are image variations on the Medallions. I wonder if the variations are the RARE MEDALLION cards that come in 1:163 packs.

In Case 4 I just hit some incredible sketch cards. What's the consensus Top 5 or 10 sketch cards to hit?

What is the difference in medallions? Can you post both side to side? There is no consensus on sketch cards. Everyone has their favorites. It all depends on the sketch. Kind of eye of the beholder thing.

If the two pictures posted are two different sets of the same medallion titles, I did not see any differences either.

I just purchased his Medallion Demented  Pair on the Bay. Very cool variation with completely different Images on the Cards.

He had the Play Dumb Moldy Clay Pair up now also and they just sold. I think the price is fair. I only wanted one Medallion but sprung for the pair to have the variation.

Ty, just watched your video with my son and it's a blast!  Thanks so much for posting it.  Great to see an overview of this set.  FYI you did mix up a few of the puzzle pieces.  Check the center piece on your first and second puzzles.
