Alex, congrats on the first ever Wacky Backs pull!  Very cool.  Now that we know that these exist we'll have to ramp up the search for the Alternate Art cards!  I assume like the Wacky Backs those would be found in the base sets and not the inserts.

My first collector box was interesting to say the least - the very first pack I opened had only 2 cards! The second pack had 4 cards!!! And no special cards in these packs either. I'm going to contact topps - wish me luck!
Did notice that the patch packs had only 3 cards total in the other boxes, so at least that was consistent....
And NO medallions, so big disappointment here, wonder if they should have been in those skinny packs?
But, did pull one of the 4 sketch packs! That was the highlight, along with the first discovery of the the Wacky back on this forum! Only one of those in my case...

Went thru all of my base cards.  Have enough to make 23 "a and b" sets however I did not see any variants.  None in the front or backs of the cards.

Joe, thanks for the info.  I suspect like the Wacky Backs they may be back loaded.  How did you find the collation overall?  Did you end up with many loose singles.

I separated them into "a" and "b" backs  I have enough to make 23 sets of each.  I have many cards that have 24-32 of each.  So my estimate is I have about 300-400 left over cards. It was a nice mix.  Even on the insert cards it was well mixed.  I just did not get any mixed back or mixed art cards

finally tore into my boxes today.

I'm still iffy on this set.
One the one hand, I think the value for the cost of a Collector box took a massive decline with the loss of the black canvas cards.
ANS10 and ANS11 had mostly 3 base + 3 hits per pack. The 2014's are mostly 4 base + 2 hits per pack.

On the other hand, I scored a ton of sketches in my 9 boxes, including one loaded pack.

A breakdown of the harder to find items:

3 Lost Wackys (L1,L2,L3)
3 Medallions (1 standard: playdumb, 2 rare: playdumb,demented. 1 more than odds)
1 cloth patch (Geezers) (1 less than odds)
3 autographs (1 less than odds)
8 gold (6 base, 2 ridiculous reads. 1 less than odds)
1 printing plate
5 Shaped sketches (2 color)
6 Sketches (3 color. 3 more than odds)
1 Loaded Pack Sketch set (color)

Those sketches are mighty sweet. You got shorted in some spots, but those could be seen as making up the difference pretty nicely!!

Patrick, I have to say that is my favorite Sketch puzzle to date.  Not only is it a rarely sketched Wacky but it's great to see what Ron Comes did with the larger canvas.  Overall you definitely scored high in terms of sketches.  It's a really nice mix of old and new titles and different artists.  In terms of getting shorted is it possible that the missing hits are Art Variation cards?  I'd double check to make sure.

I got shorted too with no medallion cards at all and a couple of paks with missing cards but I have to say all of those great color sketches that Fanatical got would have definitely made up for it! Those are great pulls - A

yeah, I'm really loving the Frighty Dog. It's a killer 4-panel set for sure. And it almost got crimped in the pack too. The penny sleeve they were in got caught in the upper crimp, but the cards were safe.
while I did come up low on a couple items, like you say, I'm high in others - such as the loaded sketch pack. as well as the Lost Wackys and the Medallions (getting 2 rare ones).
I still need to dig through for art variations. no wacky backs.
It looks like the stated odds on the pack back are WAY off for the wacky back and possibly the art variations too.

Yeah, the Wacky Backs are a mystery.  So far it looks like Alex's pull is the only one!  Hardly 1:43 packs more like 1:43,000 packs!

I think every artist did 3, which would fit the odds pretty nicely, so should be one more out there.
about 54-ish total 4-panels. I've seen 28 so far

Just a guess, but based on the price he is selling for, I would speculate either Walmart or T-R-U bonus packs. Especially since B1 and B2 where in Target Bonus packs ($7.99).

Yes. I couldn't tell you off the top of my head when the last release was that they did, but I remember going to TRU in the past to get them. Seems like it has been awhile back however. Perhaps ANS 8 or ANS 9.

It looks like both Matt Stock and Cardgary have opened quite a few cases with zero results on the alternate cards. This is so bizarre. These guys have probably opened twice as much product than all of us combined if not more. They should have pulled something. Also we have not see a lost red ludlow yet either.
