Unless I'm looking at the other picture incorrectly, 6 out of the 7 will hang sideways, with just the 'mystery' plaque right side up.

If the picture on the Topps site is accurate, you'd need to use two nails (or screws/other hangers), one on each side of the indented slot to hang it horizontally. Hope that description is remotely clear!

That's what I figure, but it looks like they made one end of the slot with an oversized opening to let the nail head in and then slide down.

1.2 mm thick 5”x7'' CAD-cut aluminum plaques. How interesting. And 100% waterproof to boot!

The choice of mount is a bit puzzling. If you use a sheet rock grabber type screw, and adjust the distance between the mount and the wall so the fit is tight, there might be enough tension for one screw to hold the plaque secure so you can easily make it level. If you use two nails, I'd suggest using a level to make a light pencil line on the wall, or else you could be there for hours trying to make them straight, while turning your wall into Swiss Fright cheese.

I just ordered a set. Even though you get a bonus when you buy the set they are still charging $20 for the bonus.

Actually, the shipping was quite reasonable for these - just $6.08. No complaints here on that front.

They shouldn't have called it a bonus - it's more like an exclusive. You can only get the exclusive title by purchasing all 6 regular titles, but they don't throw it in for free.

Got my plaques just now, and I really like the quality of the metal Wacky! Very sharp! Hairy Mane is approximately 3" x 7", and the "mystery" title is about 5" x 7". But, even the portrait oriented mystery title has the mounting block on the back attached so that it will be sideways if it is displayed with a single nail for mounting, which is what the block looks like it is intended for. ARRRGGGHHH!!!

I may try to remove the mounting blocks, but I'm glad I ordered these. If they would offer these "on demand" for original and recent titles, they could probably do some good business.

In case anyone didn't figure out the mystery title from the ad, it's [spoiler]Ork[/spoiler].

Are they die-cut to match the shape of the artwork, or are they mounted on a larger rectangular backer like the original plaques? The images on the Topps website make it look like they are cut to the shape of the artwork, but those images look like they Photoshop promo images - not actual photographs of the finished items. Also, does it appear that you can get the backer off without damaging the plaque?

The metal plate is cut to the shape of the Wacky art, with just the black border around it - they did a really good job there! I am considering trying to pull a backer off of one.

I got mine today too. Very nicely done -- I'm really pleased! I think you could probably pull off the backing, although it's very well attached. I haven't tried, and I'll planning to leave them as is.

Jean Nutty's solution sounds perfect and only requires one screw. Just make it snug enough against the wall so the Wacky doesn't rotate very easily. This way you could even have them skewed at an angle if you want.

I don't see why not. First, I have to hang one up as-is, and see what I think about the half inch block depth. Might be interesting to affix the mounting block to a colored backing board, like the old plaques........

These Halloween Postcard plaques did not seem to go over well. Would people have been more inclined to order a set of 3 if a Halloween sketch card had been included? Or, if the larger set hadn't charged for the exclusive title? I'm just wondering, mostly because I don't want Topps to give up on new Wackys. If they check out the forum, maybe the free customer feedback will help them make future offerings more appealing to Wacky collectors and keep our Wackys going.

For me, it was just the price point. Seems way too expensive for what you are getting. I am going in with two others to split a set three ways so I will have one title.

I just received my set this morning! I like the cut metal shapes and the gloss of the images. My only complaint would be the snack crumb that was packaged with my "Watchamakillit" plaque. Judging by the oil and salt, it appears to be a potato chip crumb. Luckily, it cleaned off of the plaque without damaging the image.

Pat, this is just my humble opinion, but I don't think topps listens to anything we say. If they did, they wouldn't leave such sour tastes in our mouths. I don't think they have taken into consideration anything that has been said on the forum, they just don't care....Someone please correct me on this?

as with Scoot, it was entirely the price point. no desire to shell out $140 for 7 plaques that will just be put into storage.

Same here mostly, too pricey. $10 ea would have been better.

However, for me it was also the titles. I love most all of the PC titles in general, but not all of these 7 were their strongest.

If they would have chosen Ghostess Fright Pie, Mike and Yikes, Stake 5, Starbeast, Resee's Peepers, ItKat and the mystery title "Bots", I would have somehow scraped up the funds to get a whole set.

I would like classic titles offered a la carte and for $14.99 each. Then I might have scored a plaque or two. Eating chips while packing plaques is "Crumby" thing for a Topps employee to do.

Upon closer inspection, two more of the plaques have the same crumbs and residue in the plastic bags. Not cool...

Personally I agree with you that Topps as a company isn't particularly interested in feedback from us. However, I do think that the artists who post on the forum take our input very seriously and do their best to incorporate it as they develop new sets. Of course, I don't know if Topps really listens to them either, but at least there is some hope that some of our thoughts will break through the bureaucracy eventually.
