Fall Allentown Show (Philly) on Oct 18th/19th.
« on: October 12, 2014, 02:29:33 PM »
6 days from now another gathering of the Wacky clan will be getting together for a weekend of fun, Wanted to get a head count of who plans on attending, I do know that due to other commitments, The following won't be able to come:

Campy, Band-Aches, Hipton, Brute 88, Dr. Popper, Monsterettes. (I'm sure I am missing others).

I will be there on Sat. Looking forward to seeing all that can make it.

I plan on attending on Saturday.

If there's no place to do trading, I will probably blow out fairly quickly, though. Roxanne's table(s) were great, but the last couple of shows, they have been nonexistent. Seems like Rob was our only "in" for that.

As of this writing, no Wacky Pack promo.

On a semi-related note, I found this youtube video of the 58th Philly show. For those of you who've never attended, it kind of gives you a taste of what it's like there. Also, at the 6:05 mark, if you look over the left shoulder of the gentleman being interviewed, in a blue polo (WP collector) shirt is our own Shoe, analyzing something of interest at that table! I didn't notice anyone else from the "Wacky gang" in the video...but I ain't the most observant guy in the world, either.

I'd certainly be game to trade the New York Comic Con promos (I have two different ones, both GPK), for Philly Show promos!

I know how hard it is to get extra promos, they can be very strict!  But I'm interested in the Melty Misfits too!

The only dealer that had a lot of really cool Wacky items was Dan M. from MD. He had 1st tans, 1st Luds, 2nd Luds, Band-Ache, Run Tony, Spit/Spill, Bum Chex, Choke Wagon, Grime(Heavy), and Pupsi-Cola, ETC.

I don't think it's a secret that it was Dan McKee. He did have a lot of cool items, as Shoe mentioned, as well as Ratz, Cracked Animals and others. NO commons, only rarer stickers. Shoe's quote implies single copies; there were multiples of everything. He had 10-12 Band-Aches, 10-12 Paul Mauls, many each of the others Shoe noted above. I kinda wish I took a photo of his setup. Actually, my only acquisitions there were from him...and it was a semi-trade. I traded my 1st white Paul Maul and my Grime Heavy + cash for the same stickers as an upgrade. I was very pleased that he did that with me (vs. outright purchasing his stickers).

There were other Wackys around but, in my view, nothing terribly exciting. Topps DID have a 2014 Series 1 box sitting on their table. Sorry, no picture.

Did anyone take a picture of Wacky Packages 2014 Series 1 box?  Even if it is orange, I'm dying to see it.

How about if everyone puts on their calendar now to make every effort possible to attend the next Philly Show, on Saturday, May 2, 2015?  How great would it be to have a massive Wacky collectors turnout for the next show.....  :great: :great: :great: :great: :-[

I wouldn't count on that (sadly - where is Mike Jaspersen when we need him?  :'(), and it's an unknown, but it would just be good to see everyone together - it's been a long time since we've had a really super Wacky folks turnout...
