Hard to believe! 34 cents on a $137 bid. Great minds think alike I guess. :'(

I've never seen a slabbed sticker in person.  When looking at this scan, it appears that there is a black line along the bottom of the sticker - is that a shadow from the slabbing?  Or the top of the Liptorn border?  Or, maybe I'm just way off base.

First off the person that won may have had a higher snipe bid so it may not have been that close. The other bidder may have had a $200 snipe.

Second, the black line is the plastic border in the card holder. You should acquire one slabbed card for your collection. I like them but some people don't like slabbed cards because they can't touch them. There is something about a slabbed card that appeals to me. It might be that it's kinda like a prized card and well protected. Some people don't like graded cards but with some of the crap out there I like getting a very nice card. You can always crack the case. A lot of PSA 5 & 6's could be considered NM by some collectors. They generally are really nice. You basically know what you are getting.

Nope, if the winner had a snipe bid of $200, my bid would have been beaten by $2.50, not .34. The only way the winner's bid could beat mine by .34 is if the winning bid was his top proxy bid. Otherwise, the minimum increment required at the given bidding level would be added.

The winning bidder had a high proxy bid of $137.89, 34 cents higher than mine.

Yeah, the ones that don't know how to grade.

Bummer.  That is a nice series 1.  Can't exactly tell from the pic, but it looks like it might be worthy of a 9.
Still looking for Series 17

Interesting, I forgot about the bid increments. That is very close.
