The Topps/SDCC grudge
« on: July 26, 2013, 01:32:45 PM »
Even though I recently took part in the July 18-21, 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, why do you think Topps no longer wants to have a SDCC booth since the late 2000's except last year when it was plugging the Mars Attacks anniversary or something like that?

what makes you think there's a "GRUDGE" going on, as you put it?  You tend to put words (i.e. LOTS of them) in other people's mouths, why not just e-mail Topps and ask them?

Like Zen says, why do you think there's any issue between Topps and Comic-Con? They probably just don't have anything related to promote...

Dammit, now you've got me putting words in their mouth...

I thought there was word some years back that topps was cutting back on expenses - SDCC and NYCC were low hanging fruit

What do you mean "low hanging fruit"?

It makes me think of an old man's plums, if you know what I mean. But, really, low hanging nuts would be more appropriate for that unfortunate image.

It's just money. It's hugely expensive to set up there

Exactly, there could be a lot of reasonable, logistical explanations out there as to why Topps chose not to be there.
