Original Series 1 - 16 Binder Purchase Intention Thread
« on: April 27, 2013, 09:07:21 AM »
I figured since these binders will be limited to 150 made and they are for the Original Series cards; it would make sense to try to get a fix on how many will go to forum members. Hopefully most who plan to purchase one or more of these sets will post here and Topps can determine what percent of them will go to forum members. Maybe this could result in a forum only pre-sale which has occurred once or twice in the past.

I plan on buying the set of 1 -16 when they are made available.  I know some here plan on buying two or more sets if they can. Let's get those numbers out there.

Regards,  Andrew

I plan on getting one set. Perhaps two depending on price, etc.

I only want 1 set of the binders, which includes the puzzle set and other exclusive cards. I don't care much about the sketch cards, so I'm hoping that some people will offer their extra sketch-less sets to forum members who might miss out.

I'm on the fence, but would likely buy a set if there is a presale. The possibility of missing a set of 4 and having to pay even more on the secondary market is enough to put me off the whole thing.

Its not clear at this time. It may even be the case that they will take pre-orders 4 at a time, then release all 16 at once.

The Topps ad states Binderss 1 - 4 available for pre-order soon on their site. Hopefully they will do their pre-orders this coming week.

The ad also states "get a free Lost 17th series binder free with purchase of series 1 -16 binder set."  That leads me to believe they will take a pre-order for the full set of 16.

Probably a good guess. I'm hoping we wil hear more next week also. I can't believe Topps would actually keep track of sales. Who knows?

I am interested in the card set but not the binders, so maybe I'll find someone looking for the opposite.

Wondering if this is going to be a 4/30 thing (to still be part of Wacky April), or a 5/1 thing (perhaps once a month for each set of four?)

Topps is such a tease!  :-*

I would like a set, but are they going to be D-ring binders?  I love the style of the binders, but the old school ones I have don't let the protector sheets lay flat which I find kind of annoying  8).

Guess I can't say for sure as it seems there are too many unanswered questions, the biggest of which for me is the cost.  I'd sure like to get one set.

Quite honestly, I'd be happier with one 1-16 series quality binder with a puzzle and sketch card.  I'd prefer to pay $100 for that than have 16 separate binders that Topps is planning.

I agree.  I will not be purchasing a set.  It just sounds like a money grab by Topps to me.

I'd buy a set of binders that were 1-8 and 9-16, but not 16 separate binders....  a bit much for my taste.

I sense they will be pretty small in terms of width. Time will tell.

the picture looks like a monstrous 2" width, but they had better be 1/2" or there will be a lot of angry collectors.

Keep in mind, when a printer advertises a "1/2 inch binder", they're typically referring to the inside dimension. As a result, the outside dimension is considerably thicker (depending on the material). Also, finding a 1/2" binder with a D-Ring style is rare, so chances are, the new binders are 3/4" or 1".

It will depend greatly on the price. I have my originals in a couple of big d-ring binders right now and that works pretty well. I doubt with the sketches these will even be close to reasonably-priced for me, maybe I can find someone on eBay selling the binders without the extras.

I'm sure they will show up. Some people will just tear everything apart and sell binders, sketches, & checklists separately. Although it might be cheaper for you to just buy the binders and sell the extras. I may buy the extras from you for the same price you paid for the binder package? It all depends on price but these are going to be hot!

Great Idea of trying for a "Members" only purchase date!  That would be awesome!!!

I'm in for at least one set for myself and another for a buddy of mine in the U.K. that always misses out on these limited edition things.

I'm really looking forward to the release of these!!!!

Stay Wacky!!!

I am sure to get 2 sets - particularly for series 1-4 as room is needed for Tan Backs, White Backs (1-3), Ludlow(1&2), Cloth(1), OPC(1-4), and UK (1&2) sets ... unless Topps has this in mind and have sized the binders to the series - well at least for US releases.
