Pretty Display Boxes
« on: April 05, 2013, 07:08:47 PM »
I was just experimenting with taking pics with my wife's I-Phone and e-mailing them to myself. Man, nothing could be easier, I may just have to get me one....

That is the first time I've seen the cloth stickers box. It's the same size as the Die-cuts box. So they must have come out around the same time. I haven't done much research but this would tell us that Die-cuts came first and cloth second because the first series box is completely different.
Yes, you need to get an iPhone...LOL

Very nice!  As for the iphone, just borrow your wife's phone and put the money you'd save on that into Wackys!   :-\

Ha, that's clearly what I've been doing so far, my current phone is a circa-2004 flip phone without a keypad....

I have a $10 Tracfone, no keypad, no flip cover, just bare bones communication for use in case of emergencies.

Hey Dave, Which series is this blue one?

This one is 3rd series, since it is sticker-less....

No, they're not for sale. It's kinda like when people all post the sketch cards they got, so others can look at them. That's one of the most fun thing about these forums, people sharing their collections with others who might appreciate them. I certainly have no one in my immediate life who would give a ratz' @$$, so this place is my only hope.

I don't think I've seen a high grade die cut box for sale publicly ever, so I have no idea what they would go for now. Historically, I would say the highest grade die cut, cloth, 1st series boxes usually went in the $750-$1000 range, maybe a little more for a high grade wacky ads box.

I paid under $500 for this one a little while back, but it is definitely lower grade than Dave's...

There have been many.  I won one from Mastronet, then flipped it on ebay years later when I decided I didn't need to have a minty mint one that I always had to worry about when I wanted to show it to people so I downgraded.  I have seen a few others over the years.  Perhaps you didn't view them as high grade, minor bump or bruise.

Thanks, Dave. It's the best die cut box I'll ever have, I'm sure...I'm actually very happy with it, it exceeds my demands for an item like this.

Really? Who is this loser? He sells photos of stuff? Really? We must be dumb cuz there must be a whole market for this stuff.  It's like the guy that sells photo copies of autographs. Why would there be a market for this? I think I might take high quality 8X10's scans and print them for $10 each. Ink is so expensive that no one would ever think to do this. It may be my new business model.
Dave, posting your pictures of boxes and posting them on the forum is totally wrong. Put black borders around your boxes and sell the prints. You are losing a lot of money. Maybe hire a professional photographer to get your lighting right..LOL
