WACKY TRIVIA
« on: May 05, 2010, 06:05:05 PM »

I thought it would be fun to have an ongoing thread of Wacky trivia questions.  I am thinking one person starts with the question, and the first person that gets the correct answer wins and gets to ask the next question, and so on.  I'll get it started………

TRIVIA QUESTION #!  How many times did the title Gadzooka appear in released Wacky series?

Here are some parameters to follow………….

- only unique examples should be used.  For example, the OPC reissue S1 would NOT count because it's identical to the US version.
- the following should NOT count…………Wacky Ad 4x, Poster series, 74' Tattoos, Sew-on patches, & Pogs.
- Gadzooka/Sugarmess S14 should NOT count.

Other than that anything goes!

Great thread, I know this question was asked in the past but I don't recall the answer.
Are yoju counting wrappers or purely counting number of different released series in card form?

That's actually more than what I had!  Did you see the parameters of what shouldn't be counted?  If you get a chance PM me your list and I'll check it out.

Oops, I didn't read your parameters. I assume you are counting back variations, since you view those as different sets? If
so then I get 17 (actually stolen from Greg's list in the old "Wacky Fact of the Day" thread; 18 if you count 1986 (where it's
not on a single sticker).

not that I have any desire to win and then get stuck having to come up with a question myself, but....
I challenge that answer.

wasn't one of the criteria "released" wacky series?
do folks consider the 79 Test and Irish Test as "released"? I don't.
and if you do, then I would propose that the unnumbered die-cut version should count as well.

and what happened to the '86 album?

I missed this the first time I read it and I totally forgot about the colored borders.  That adds 4 more to the list!

This was a tricky one to start out because there's some obvious gray areas.  This is really just for fun, nothing to win.  I didn't include the 86' on my list because it's split up into 4 cards.  The Irish Test could go either way I suppose.  Just for my own knowledge the 79' Test packs were never released into the market?  I'm not sure I knew that.

I think the '79 packs were likely released for sale, just on a very limited basis. I see no reason to think they weren't.

The Irish test packs seem less likely to have been released since so many turned up in one place, and none had ever
turned up before.

Damn, I need to stop working at work as I missed a chance to answer this.  Oh well, great fun!

If we find a lull in people asking questions, can we ask a question that we are not quite sure of the answer to kinda give the forum members something to research and come up with a collaborative answer such as "how many original series wacky titles(products) were discontinued ie is Gyppy Popcorn even produced any more?

I have one that I think I know the answer to, but actually I just want to know (and make sure) -- so I guess it's more of a "question" than a "trivia question".

How many references to Wackys have there been on Garbage Pail Kids stickers, old and new?
