I am still previewing the show Comic Book Men on AMC. It was renewed for another season it seems. I went up to Redbank New Jersey last year with a bunch of Wacky's & my Wacky guitar. Ended up selling them a Poster.

I like the show as well.  A fun mindless half hour.  Though I'm guessing Wackys would be a bit of a stretch, I can't imagine at least one of those guys didn't dig Wackys as a kid.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, Mark did say Cameo not staring role. Was there even a brief shot of any Wackys? Did anyone watch close enough to see? I have not seen the EP yet.

I watched pretty carefully thru it twice and didn't notice any...but I could've missed it.

I just watched it too and if there were Wackys, they were probably in that guy's warehouse of collectibles.  There were a bunch of quick shots showing tons of stuff stacked to the ceiling.  I think you would have to go through the scenes frame-by-frame to catch them if they are there.

Maybe someone on here can log on to the AP website and send Mike & Frank an e-mail and ask them if they ever came across WP in their travels.

A full Wacky sheet appeared in the episode. First a shot of the front appears, Then another shot appears with the sheet flipped over. It's quick but with so many eagle-eyed Wacky collectors here I'm surprised nobody noticed.

I found the scene(s) that show the back of the sheet, but can't find the one with the front. I'm not surprised people didn't see it - it flashes on the screen less than 1 second. Both times they show it.

I have not seen the show before this episode. I may start watching it. How does he find the people with these hoards of collectibles? I would love to go through some of those places. I bet the guy had more Wacky items than just that rerun sheet. I also noticed in his seemingly endless piles of stuff, two boxed 60's Thingmaker Creepy Crawlers type sets (the stuff I also collect). One was the Snoopy Cartoon Maker and the other was a Dollymaker. Neato!

I never could figure out this forum.  I don't know, and never will retain, the knowledge of how to post a new discussion on these pages.  But I would like to post this Art Spiegelman interview from 5 years ago, wherein Art covers the Topps stuff...and the satirical and parody influences that led to it all.  It is the first podcast interview here:   http://huffduffer.com/Wordridden/158

It can be tricky to find! Go to the home page. Expand the titles in the blue bar headers (in white font) so they say -, and you can view the categories under each blue bar header.  Click on the appropriate category (in blue font), and that takes you to a page with a tab that says “New Topic”

Yes it's one of the reissue series one sheets that you can either find at a non-sport show, flea market, or yard sale for a price no one wants to pay.
