Little help, please?
« on: November 05, 2012, 07:39:37 PM »
Can anybody help me shed some light on where these wacky's came from?  They're both white backs, which is wierd for the Rinkled Wrap, and have no copyright.

looks like they might be from an early proof stage of the 1st rerun set.

The tiny PRTD IN U.S.A. and the die cuts are the same as the reprints.
no puzzle image on the back yet, and the numbers and part of the copyright are missing

Weren't there some copyrights that rubbed off?  For some reason I am thinking those were Shedd's stickers which are whitebacks but these aren't shedds titles so that eliminates that.  Also, haven't whitebacked reissues popped up before?  I think they all had full copyrights but yours could be proof versions as Fanatical called out.

Aha! You may have it figured.  I see that Rinkled and Schtick are both in the 1st series of reissues, too, which probably makes them more likely to be ones that were proofed.

So cool to see that even after all this time has passed, there are STILL new finds out there!  Whoever's going for a complete set of ALL known stickers probably just fell backward in their chair!  Imagine if there's a set of these somewhere out there!!!  --So, where'd you find these?  Were they WITH regular Wackys?

Very cool indeed. Is it possible these are someone's early attempt at bootlegging Wackys? I think it's interesting they just say "printed in USA"

I know Rusty has a few series 2 titles that were found with no copyright at all.  Here is Gurgle, and the other 2 were Poopsie and Blunder.........
