Yes, Mark Parisi is not taking part in the July Artists on Demand Topps Wacky Packages project, that's his decision.

The June 16, 2013 Off the Mark Sunday strip in honor of Father's Day with Mark Parisi's family giving him ideas (which Billy from the Family Circus despises) that Mark draws - One of them is a pun on the Off The Mark strip!

I wonder, can you make yourself into a Wacky Package even if it isn't TOPPS ARTISTS ON DEMAND (since Mark Parisi refused to take part in it anyway)?

What? Please don't spread false rumors. I wasn't asked to participate in the Artist's On Demand thing, I did not refuse anything. You asked me and in email and I told you that. Please, no mumbo jumbo.

Stop it! Topps chose a few artists and I did not even know about it.

LOVE Work-doh and Mr. Pepper! What's Topps thinking?

I thought those were shoe-ins and was quite disappointed when they were rejected.

Hey Mark...Your daily calendar is a big hit at my work.  I bought several at Christmas to give to friends at work and we get a kick out of it everyday.

Excellent work!

I bet if the Shoe had the final say, they'd have gotten in.

A recent June 26, 2013 Off the Mark strip by Mark Parisi featured a wacky (not package) combination on zucchini and Kool-Aid (or lemonade or something like that):

The July 26, 2013 Mark Parisi Off The Mark strip features a wacky take on Hamburger Helper in it:

And though I was late with this, this July 21, 2013 Sunday Off The Mark strip mentions Mark Parisi's last name:

The July 29-August 3, 2013 episodes of Mark Parisi's Off the Mark was another Wacky Packages week. I posted the original concept of Might Be Dog from ANS10 in the ANS10 spoilers thread, now here are the other 5 Wacky Packages Parisi entries for that week (One is a book spoof, one is a video game spoof, and one is a spoof of a product which like Hostess was removed this past Fall but is about to return to store shelves before 2013 is over):

Following last week's Mark Parisi's Off the Mark Wacky Packages week, this August 5, 2013 Off the Mark strip guest starring Charlie Brown and Lucy from Peanuts has a KICKSTARTER parody that should have made a Wacky web site spoof or an ANS Awful App:

Also, did you know Mark Parisi was recently spotlighted on an episode of a local WCVB ABC 5 Boston, MA. TV show called "Connect 5" in an episode regarding comics?

Pretty cool! So you gave up art for tracing...LOL
I couldn't quite figure out what you were doing there. Are you copying them over for another project?

Are you sure? From the video it looked like tracing. I could be completely wrong though. I love Marks humor and I'm just making a feeble attempt at being funny. :]

I'm inking over the pencil drawing, not tracing. And I must have had stage fright as I usually draw faster than that.

Very cool, Mark.  Thanks for posting!  I'm glad I had the chance to see it.  Next time, however, I say they move the Superman bit to the end and feature you at the beginning!

Remember the ANS10 bonus sticker of the Wacky Package movie spoofing "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" as "The Woman With the Draggin' Tattoo"? Here by Mark Parisi could have been another T.G.W.T.D.T. spoof:

(Image removed from quote.)

One of my favorite paintings. Stunning. So much captured in a single snapshot of time - painted by hand - roughly 350 years before digital cameras were everywhere. Interesting how it conveys more than countless digital photos on the net.

The quickie information on Vermeer on Wikipedia is worth a look imo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vermeer - check out that self-portrait (part of a painting) - eerie how it looks like a photograph - amazing work.

Back to topic:

I check out Mark's comics almost every day - two recent favorites of mine:

Pretty famous work of art....it was even in a Disney movie once as the answer to a collegiate bowl game scene...the students
all stared at the painting afterwards to try to see the 'nude'

Smacks of the vanishing liberal arts education... You know, being all well-rounded and knowledgable about many worldly things.  Freak.
