Taken from the May 10, 2012 Off the Mark strip: The opposite (not Wacky Package leaning or something like that) of Mr. Clean...

Unaccepted by some but not ALL!

Sorry to be redundant, but 5 Hour Enemy is the funniest thing Iíve seen in a long time! All week Iíve been laughing at that gag, and it keeps on giving. I swear it deserves some type of trophy. In my book, this is one of those rare gems that doesn't come around often. I think someone at Topps was distracted and checking their phone when this concept passed over the editing table. OK, Iíve heaped enough burning coals upon your head.

Thanks! I'll take those coals any day!

I think they don't like when the package itself is alive. The original concept for 8 Up had a living can devouring the person but they asked me to change the gag so the can wasn't alive.

So are you saying you found a way to take a week off? HaHa :great:

That's exactly right! When I get behind, those unused concepts bail out my ass.

Thanks. They were unaccepted concepts and it's good to have another avenue in which to use them.

Wow, unaccepted concepts? Thanks for sharing them here they are accepted. I wonder what the actual reasoning is for each one being "unacceptable". I know it's not worth getting hung up on, but is may be entertaining to know.

Have you noticed the July 7, 2011 Off the Mark strip with Mark Parisi's take (not Wacky Package like?) of a comic strip by Richard Thompson called "Cul De Sac" but calling it "Cult De Sac"?

And now, recently on May 27, 2012 there's an Off the Mark Sunday strip featuring a Cul De Sac character appearance at the BETTY RUBBLE CENTER:

The May 31, 2012 Mark Parisi Off the Mark strip features some gag that should have been a current Wacky Packages ANS entry spoofing the Tetris video game:

If anyone is interested, Heritage is auctioning off a lot of original cartoon art. Cartoonists donated their work in honor or Richard Thomas (Cul de Sac cartoonist and Parkinson's sufferer) to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. It's for a good cause and it looks like some of it could go very affordably.

Here's mine:

I even notice every Father's Day (even this year despite Bil "Family Circus" Keane's death in November 2011) Mark forces his family to come up with ideas while Billy of the Family Circus still has a grudge or something like that.

Now if only Billy of the Family Circus got his own Wacky Package idea...

From today's July 23, 2012 Off the Mark strip by Mark Parisi, remember Wacky Packages ANS8's Green Eggs and Ham Wacky Package parody called "Grenades and Ham"? This should have been another "Green Eggs and Ham" Wacky Package take:

Not Wacky Related somewhat from the October 14, 2012 Off the Mark comic strip, but does it remind you of the 1960's-1970's years when gas pumps had at most gas station chains custom blended style systems (like Sunoco's Sun Dial Service and later Sunoco's Penny Pinching Pump?):

I don't follow you? You get 3 choices at the pump now. No special blends unless you consider octane or corn. Well, there is diesel so that could be a blend....

The October 15-20, 2012 Mark Parisi Off The Mark comic strip had Halloween leaning Wacky Packages drawings for the week, I posted 3 of them on the 2012 Wacky Halloween Postcards thread, one of them on the ANS9 thread, and now here are the other 2 for the week here. One spoofs Sunkist, the other spoofs a Hollister T-shirt (Mark told me in a e-mail that Hollister is a popular clothing line for teens):

I hope there's another Wacky Packages week in Off The Mark sometime in 2013 if not before 2012 is over.

And a final tidbit: The Howlester shirt that spoofs Hollister shirts could have been the 3rd. Wacky Packages T-shirt spoof joining 2 from the 1991 Wacky Packages series - Sick Tracy and Barf Wimpson.

Here's an October 27, 2012 Halloween related Mark Parisi Off The Mark comic strip that should have been considered a Wacky Package entry in the ill fated 1991 revival:

Cool article!

I wonder if the big rolling Craftsman tool boxes contain power saws and nail guns, or sets of color ink pens

And the cat peering through the window. Is her name Fancy Feet or Zit Kat?

I had totally forgotten about that title and had to Google it

I think itís funny when a fat chick wears skinny jeans. Especially when they are low cut at the waist and everyone can see their pencil holder

Regarding this April 18, 2013 Mark Parisi Off the Mark comic strip which is not Wacky related but yet to see the first of at least 1 or 2 Wacky Packages weeks, do these Pez dispenser heads resemble heads that should have been in Garbage Pail Kids entries? (I bet Mark Parisi didn't do roughs for the Garbage Pail Kids Brand New Series 1 and 2 going on 3 or more):

My curiosity is killing me...did Mark announce to people in public that he, in fact, refused to take
part in the sketches?  Or is just mumbo-jumbo, again?
