As a disco music fan, I really enjoyed her songs and performances.  Rest in peace, Donna.

Say what you will about the Disco era, Donna was one of the great voices of that time. I always really liked her cover of the Vangelis/Jon Anderson song STATE OF INDEPENDANCE:

Yeah, kinda beat. I heard this a few days ago. I remember a few years ago she sang on New Years Eve - and sounded great too. Nice soothing tone to her voice and fit the disco songs very well. I think her last big hit was, "On the Radio".

I think all her hits were on the radio.  lol (sorry, couldn't resist...)

Actually, "She Works Hard for the Money" was a few years later and was a top 10 hit for her.

She was quite a painter.  I had always hoped the NEW YORKER would have run a cover by her.  Her earlier style was perfect for that.  In recent years, she worked on really large paintings....and the smaller sized stuff became less detailed as a result.  http://www.fine-art.com/retail/search.asp?ynLimited=r&keywords=donna+summer&priority=3&artistStack=n
