The following new sections have been added to Greg's page, for those who may not have noticed:http://www.wackypackages.org/stickers/wonderbread/wb1.htmlhttp://www.wackypackages.org/stickers/wonderbread/wb2.htmlhttp://www.wackypackages.org/stickers/wonderbread/wb3.htmlhttp://www.wackypackages.org/stickers/testpack/http://www.wackypackages.org/stickers/1986/http://www.wackypackages.org/miscellaneous/tattoos/http://www.wackypackages.org/stickers/canlabels/
In Greg's side by side die cut compares, the coloration is quite different. Does anyone know if this is just the result of aging, or were they manufactured with different colorations?
That's good info on the test series diecuts. I was just looking on the test pack page this morning after seeing the jerkyfruit thread. I didn't realize it was new. Dave, Did you just notice them today, or were they just posted today?
That would be aging.
He has ANS 7 & 8 up, these are new additions as well.
I missed the test pack series when I first looked at the links. Those die-cut comparisons will be invaluable to me since I still need around 10 titles to complete the set. Rusty only has some of them.
I'm not sure it's aging. It looks like vastly different contrast was used in the two scans. So the test stickers appear with bright white borders and lighter colors, while the normal series have darker borders and colors.I agree that a comparison of the diecuts is difficult to make for titles that already have diecut variations within the original series. The only ones I can really comprehend are the "sharp corner" ones.
To further this point, most of the non sharp corner titles on my uncut strips don't match the diecuts that greg shows as test stickers on his site, actually, in many cases my test strip diecut matches the "regular sticker" cut shown on his site. I thought long ago everyone had agreed it was more about the lack of blue hue around the sticker that designated a title as a true test sticker. I thought the diecut variations were purely secondary in cases where it was tough to determine if in fact the faint blue hue was there or not.
I agree... there are several errors on Greg's images as mentioned previously in my PM message to you. Also, you are correct in the issue regarding the blue hue around the sticker. All of the 1979 test stickers that I have either acquired from verified previously opened packs or from Eric do not have the hue. In fact the entire sticker image is much more brilliant and the borders are very dark black. I believe it had something to do with the newer printing process or ink, etc. compared with the older 1973 process.
