Hi all,
Mark Pingitore here. I'm going to be contributing to ANS9, and wanted to introduce myself for those who don't know my work from other Topps series. I've worked mostly on Garbage Pail Kids up until now, but am excited to be a part of Wacky Packages too!

Welcome, Mark. Glad you are a new Wacky Packages artist starting with ANS9.
Maybe you can practice for Old School 5 series and a 9th. Wacky postcard series.

I bet Clubbed crackers planned for the recent Wacky Packages Postcards series 8 is being held over for possible Wacky Packages ANS9 sticker candidate.

It is very apparent from the dozen entries all over the forum that CLUBBED CRACKERS got snubbed.  What is the big interest in this one title?  It is kind of creeping me out to see it listed everywhere like it was a prized jewel.

What is it that makes this "snubbing" so important?  I am just really curious!

I was just kidding because dth1971 keeps posting about it.  I'm not sure why he is so interested about that title.

I know - I logged in this morning and it was in almost every thread!  That's what made me break out the scanner before getting to work.

ANS9 are listed in the April Previews magazine page 368. There will even be a small spot ad with them too. Could be our first peek.

release date July 25. Price:  $2.09/pack. Inflation strikes again!!

It's possible places like Wal-Mart and Target still sell them for $1.99. Hobby shops tend to charge slightly more for packs because they don't buy them in the large quantities that the distributors for WM and Target do.

And, in some cases, the hobby packs have better odds at chase cards and things like that (that's not to say ANS9 sold at hobby stores is guaranteed to have anything like that, though).

I kind of doubt it. I think Target always charges msrp, whatever is listed on the box/feed that's what they charge. And wal*mart typically beats that by 2¢, so I expect wal*mart packs to be $2.07.

Thanks for the heads up.  2.09 is certainly an odd price.  I'll look forward to hearing more details about the set.

Ya i thought the same thing about the 2.09 price, but with gas prices rising shipping costs also rise and so Topps had too do something to still make a nice profit.
