Different Paper Stock for OLDS2?

Hi I am new to the forum.

I was looking at my OLDS2 set yesterday and I noticed the seem more 'flimsy' than the other sets.

Is Topps starting to use a thinner paper stock for the stickers?

OLDS1 was white backs and OLDS2 was tan backs. Tan backs are thinner stock like the original series. There will be a mix of these stocks in OLDS3.

Thanks for the information.  I never owned any tan backs so it is good to know the difference.

Yeah, us guys from the 70's like the flimsy ones better!  The ones they make today could be used as a weapon, and the print quality is way too good!  haha

Was very happy to see OldS2, with the tan backs, feels like the originals.
I still miss the smell and power from the gum.

it's got nothing to do with the forum. perhaps you mean new to collecting?  

the story is that supposedly topps ran out of clean adhesive paper while trying to meet the unprecedented demand for wackys and was forced to resort to using some stock where the Ludlow paper company had already preprinted their logo on the back - in this case for their "Snap-Back" paper which used a camel image.
