I tend to agree with your perspective that the increased quantity will help deter people from buying boatloads of sets with the intention of flipping them for profit, and will make the sketches more affordable in general.  I will probably go for "one sketch per artist" on this series so that's at least 10 sketches without going for title variations or combos, etc!  The increased quantity should make that easier.

Plus we can assume Topps will make more money on this series based on the increased quantity, so that should translate into more future series.  If the profits were minimal they might not think it's worth the work.

Also, kind of glad to see a reduction in the chase items. For completists, it looks like one could expect to purchase 4 boxes and either get lucky and get all chase items, or have enough dupes to trade to get a full set.

999!? That stinks! 5 will be enough for me. So much for limited edition. What happened to 250 and then 500? What's next 3000? I'll be happy with 5 sketches and one set of postcards this time.

Does the number on the cards or now the COA make you enjoy the set any more or less depending on the number you receive?

Speaking or records, here in Indiana we hit 78 degrees yesterday and could be higher today. All the trees are starting to bud out and grass is growing already. We are gonna pay for this extremely mild winter  in some way. Plagues of mosquitoes will surely be carrying off small children soon.

Can you share anything on the number of different sketch titles?

Here's a list of the sketch card artists:

Neil Camera, Matthew Kirscht, Mark Parisi, Mark Pingitore, Joe Simko, Smokin' Joe, Colin Walton, Fred Wheaton and John Zeleznik.

There were 8 different titles that everyone sketched.

It seems like forever to wait 5 business days for shipping anymore.

And then I remember shipping as a kid: "6 to 8 weeks". I have no idea how we survived it.

I know! The issue this round is I'm ready to sell my iPad 2 and now my daughter is bugging me for it. It would help offset quite a bit of the cost of the new iPad. She asks me every day and I keep telling her 'we'll see'. I got my wife the iPhone 4S and just sold her 4 for $305. I actually made a $100 off the deal...LOL  These Apple gadgets are just crazy now.

No kidding... I waited almost all summer vacation for this one poster I purchased from the back of a blue parody sticker wrapper.

I can't afford to order at this time, but if anybody ordered an extra regular set just to get the bonus, or free shipping, I will happily buy a set in two week's time.

Hit me up if interested.

Curious what others think the Bio Cards will go for this time around? There are about 1000 limited sets, each with 2 bios, 8 artists so 250 of each bio card made. In the past they were sometimes much more limited but 250 is a pretty low number. I paid about $20 each for the two I needed from PC 7. I am hoping these will go for $10 - 15. I have 2 limited sets coming so I will need to acquire four of the 8 by trading or purchase. I will probably sell one of my sketches and use the funds to acquire the bios I need or trade.

For series 7 there were also 2 bios per set, but 6 total, and they settled in @ $25-30 for a full set of 6.  Of course the run was only 500 and this series is double that.  To me these kind of offset each other and I bet the bio sets will settle in @ $20-25.

I recall PC7 having 8 bio cards? I was irritated because they did a limit of 3 LE sets which meant it was impossible to get the bio cards through luck or trade without either purchasing more or going outside the Topps limit.

I'm very pleased with the 5 set limit and 8 bio cards this time around. Not sure what the 999 sets are going to do with prices/demand, but it should prove interesting. I'm hoping to get COA # 1, 666 or 999. Heh.
