It's nice! I had no idea what Engstrom was drawing. I looked over every character twice. Now I see the regular bonus card and it all makes sense ;D

I wonder if that "Yikes! Spikes!" is a riff on the old Beech-Nut "Yipes! Stripes!" campaign slogan?

They really a nice job on these sketches. I see you got the same Engstrom I got. That's strange. I wonder how many repeat sketches there are?

So generally speaking they didn't do mass duplicate sketches?

I have no idea. I know I did about 10 similar close ups, the rest are pretty varied. I just think it's too much to say it's the same sketch. If I were faced with the two, I'd rather have the one with the lightning bolts, hence it must be something different, or I wouldn't care.

If I were faced with the two, I'd rather have the one with the lightning bolts . . .

I kinda prefer the other one, with more details in the hat.

It is fun to see them side by side, as there are a fair number of differences in shading and shapes. To me, the slightly different style of the eyes makes the captain on the right look more surprised, while the expression of the fellow on the left seems to be a bit more of a sneer. I’d usually apologize for this level of over analysis, but I guess this is the best place to do it  :-)  Sure enjoy your art work.

Here are my sketch pulls.  I like both the Simko sketches, but will probably trade one for a different artist.  I love that Neil's Romaine sketch actually has the title name on it - especially funny to me because that's the name of a local legislator.

Scans of my sketches below.  I was thrilled to pull a color sketch! Great work Mr. Simko, and Mark I love the Cap'n.  (Don't know what I'm doing wrong that the edges of the scan get cut off, but you can see the whole thing when you click on the image....)

Nice pull! But if Koduck said there is only "a handful" of color sketches this time, there are only 4 fingers left!

So since this one was done by mark Parisi and he didn't do art, does that mean not only the artists for the set did sketches but concept artists as well?  That would bring the sketch artists from 6 up to 10.

Rob,

There were 7 guys doing sketches for series 7: Brent, Jay, Joe, Mark, Matthew, Neil and Pat.

More importantly though, the postcards (while always great since Series 1) have shown a nice progression from one series to the next. Having multiple signatures included is quite nice and overall it is a thorough package.

Neil, did all the artists do various characters or did they stick with their concept? I keep seeing the same Simko character show up and I have only seen 2 lynches.

You mentioned only a handful of color sketches were done. I have seen 2 Simko color; one on the forum and one on ebay. Did all the artists do at least one color sketch?

All 7 artists did equal amounts of color sketches. Their drawings (color and b&w) are based off of the characters they painted.

While I'm not at liberty to give out numbers, it's safe to say that since 2 Simkos have shown up, that would mean there must be at least 14 color sketches (but probably more ;) )
