Nothing says 1973 like this...
« on: May 19, 2011, 12:09:12 PM »
1973 gave most of us our first real introduction to Wackys, but nothing says 1973 quite like this...

Everything about this video sums it up for me:

Gotta love it...or not!

Being into Rock and Roll in the late 1970's and early 80's I dont remember that song either. Though I heard of Uriah Heep alot during the late 1970's, down in Miami, they weren't playing them much. It was the time of Boston, Doobie Brothers, (rise of) Def, Van Halen, Heart and on and on.
Thanks for sharing, cool song.

Great video! A classic of the era; clothes, the dancers, hair, etc.
I had their Demons & Wizards and Abominog albums but never really got into them much.
The most interesting thing, to me, about the band is their members throughout the years.
Lee Kerslake, Nigel Olsson, John Wetton, Chris Slade, to name a few...

I bet you do remember this one Frank. It's from the same Demons and Wizards album.

I'm sensing a shift in the space-time continuum back to a simpler time....The 70's.

Is that really Liam?   It sure does look like him.  I never heard the song either but I have heard of the band.  Totally trippy and groovy!  Thanks for the Ace Frehley reference, Neil.

Long live Hawaii Five O

You got it Frank. One of my top 10 TV shows of all time. My wife and I have been working our way through all 10 seasons of 5-O via Netflix and the Roku box. We're at season 8 but have recently taken a detour and are stuck on the inaugural season of The Virginian with that awesome Percy Faith written theme.

Far Out, I'm ready - this too fast paced stuff - mainly the work harder and longer hours mentality is UNgroovey. Bring on the hippies, bellbottoms, loose women and parties! O.K. maybe not the bellbottoms, that's a big 10-4 there good buddy, now wait for your 8-track to change tracks so you can get groovin again to that song.

Not to toot my own horn, but, OK to toot my own horn,  we got a few retro 70's sounding songs on our new C.D. called "Til We're Satisfied", by my original band called the, Fool Injectors. Those would be "Rolling In The Hay","322", and "Deer In the Headlights" (Our Hendricks style song). Duzn't of this very forum did all of the graphic work on the C.D. and did an awesome job!

O.K. I digress, back to '73....

Let me think about this and figure it out. I know your not talking about a Bosley thing.

Good idea by the way. Give out a sentence or associated word and have others figure out what it links to.

Example, just had a girl in my office who lived in Brooklyn in the 1970's and says that she and her girlfriends went to the shooting of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. She was giving me all this trivia. Says that the nightclub scene was filmed in actual nightclub(you know the DISCO where he dances and competes). She says after movie came out, they opened up the club on one weekend night to people under 18. Prior to that, only adults could go there. Problem I have, in Miami where I grew up, there were NO UNDER 18 clubs.

Also Welcome Back Kotter, the school that is pictured at the beginning of the show, when that famous song is playing, was the school that competed with her school, sorry cant remember the name she gave me. Says Gabe Kaplan was from Brooklyn and that is why it was filmed there.

Love 1970's trivia. Kids now adays dont know what they missed then.
