Ebay $.99 Auctions
« on: April 27, 2011, 09:00:50 AM »
I have heard a rumor that Ebay will be discontinuing their $.99 auctions. This would really help get rid of all of the useless Wacky auctions. I believe that there are normally 300 to 400 listed under $.99 on a weekly basis. Can anyone confirm this?

No but I think that's a good idea.  I can't believe sellers actually take the time to do the work to list and ship individual items for a buck.

There is no advantage for E-Bay to discontinue this format, since they get paid on percentages I would figure they would want more volume

Oh no :( I love .99 cent auctions. I get alot of my stickers for my sticker collection that way. I hope they don't. I think if sellers have enough overhead or multiple similar items (ie stickers) then it is an excellent way to get their name out there or move things. I agree with the fact that they are getting a percentage anyways so why do away with it.

Yes there is quite a bit of unneeded stuff that should not be there.
