Do you think this item will be perfect to be in a Wacky Packages Old School series? This is an image of a hot dog wrapper from a once popular drive-in fast food chain called Dog 'n Suds (which today has only about 16 or 17 still existing locations):
I'm not sure it's well known enough. I've never heard of them myself. It looks like it would be a good one if it was more recognizable though.
Rob I have been to a few, and like many chains they have dwindled but a few still remain. Facebook has a page dedicated to them:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dog-n-Suds-Drive-in/106628489644I would like to see this chain parodied. I seen an episode of American Pickers where they found a display tray and replicated food and root beer glass that hung on car window that was from the Dog N Suds..http://coolandcollected.com/american-pickers-trading-up-episode-recap-and-review/
I wonder if they ever had them on the east coast? I've never heard of a hot-dog chain before. I do like to go through the McDonald's drive-thru though and order a hot-dog w/sauerkraut, and then listen to the silence on the intercom.
There are still some Nathan's franchises around on Long Island. I even get coupons with the newspaper.
