Has anyone ever tried soaking with water?
I also collect prewar cards, including tobacco cards. Last week, I soaked an Oxford Confectionary card from the 1920's and the stuck on piece of paper came off. Soaked in warm water(tap), left for about an hour. Took out of water and used tweezers to remove the paper. Patted the card down with regular paper towel and then put between pages of a heavy book(in paper towel). It worked without any problem. You CAN NOT do this will all cards.
Problem is I have no idea of the effect on a Wacky Package. I dont have any Wacky's I know of that have stuck on paper, otherwise, I would try it.
By the way, I am not telling anyone to try this, especially on a valuable wacky. Just wondering if anyone ever tried it.
