I'm waiting on ANS8 until after-the-fact. Will probably just buy a complete base set + less-than-insane-odds bonus cards a couple of months later.

Maybe its time for someone from Topps to let us in on what they decided for the Odds for the Sketch cards this time around in ANS8? This will be a nice acid test to gauge the impact of Collector feedback on their decisions. I think our dissatisfaction with the Sketch odds for ANS7 was widely voiced so there is little doubt that we were heard. Fingers crossed. This will determine how much I spend on this series.

That's what I'm waiting on too.  Potomac sent me a pre-order email with a little discount if the order is placed by today, but I'm not ordering big unless they decide to improve the odds.  My guess is they leave the odds the way they were for series 7, but we should know soon enough.

I'm waiting too. ANS7 was the first released where I jumped in feet first and bought a case. I am still eating these things for breakfast, lunch and 4th-meal. For dinner, I lay off the fiber.

What's the cost of shipping and is there a minimum order?

Does that include shipping though?  Potomac is at $42.00 but they include shipping for orders over $150.00.

I'm not sure yet.  If they go with the same odds as series 7 I probably will just buy them retail, but if they improve the odds and I can buy bulk at a reduced pack rate I'll go that route.  So what are we saving by going with a dealer, like $0.32 per pack?  If my #'s are correct then if I bought 3-cases I would save $185.00 off of retail.  Not too bad.  Even at that savings if they don't improve the odds the chances are you'll take a beating!

I hear you on the odds argument...when will we know...or maybe not at all...see if Dave can shed some light on it...

The Odds are the big question that needs some addressing to pump up the pre-orders. Topps should step up if they want to maximize collector pre-orders.

Have you tried contacting Topps customer service to ask about the odds?

I got the latest issue of Non-Sport Update yesterday.  In the preview section for next issue, it said there'd be an article about Wacky series 8.  How much info and how accurate remains to be seen, but it'll be something to look out for.  I believe the issue should be out in early July.

PS This month's issue says that Series 8 will be released in August and Wacky Packages Erasers Series 2 will be released in October. This month's issue also features a juicy half page horizontal, 4-color CEREAL KILLERS TRADING CARDS ad that made me go out and buy a box! I didn't know what you were all talking about re Cereal Killers until I saw this ad

What is the latest on the release of ANS8?  Is Target the place to score them first as usual? I enjoy the run up to these releases and find it fun to stalk Targets looking for the Gravity feeds when they hit.  I will be looking in Target now for the "Coming soon" signage they place on top of the card section. I will score one of those if possible. I got one last time around.

I had the ANS itch so bad last week that I bought 24 packs of ANS7 from Target.  I pulled 2 foils, 2 silver flashes, and 2 pinks.  I estimate the current value of those to be about 6 dollars and fifty cents!  I sure hope series 8 is better in that regard.

I've read that smells can have a strong effect on nostalgia.

Passing a woman in a store that has on the perfume that an old flame once wore is a phenomenon that gives me whiplash on rare occasion.

Also, I chuckle when I say to myself, "That is what my teacher in grammar school wore" or the old lady (looked just like your Sweet'nSlow gal) who always hugged me at church, and then I smelled like her perfume for the rest of the day, yuck

I really like this new 7UP gag. I think it "works" and enjoy the character. The type of expression you'd expect after eating a can!

I believe “ate up” ain’t proper English, but heck, sometimes daisies pass for marigolds

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the odds are even worse with ANS8.  Haven't the odds gotten worse with each ANS release?  And every time there seems to be a big uproar about it, yet Topps keeps sticking it to the collectors.

I'm calling it now:  Sketch cards will be 1:5000 packs.

I Have It On Very Good Sources That The Sketch Cards Will Be Inserted At Extremely Likely Odds!

Those Odds Are 1:1,500, 001

HAPPY HUNTING!!!

I don't understand the odds you are referring to.  Series 7 had 300 total sketches @ 1:2,340 packs.  What is 1:1,500,001 referring to?  One and a half million packs doesn't make any sense.  1,500 packs would make more sense, but even at that it's not significantly better than series 7.

I think that having the sketch odds at something like 1:100 packs (i.e., one sketch per every 4 boxes on average) would be a good middle ground for this series.  I'm pretty much down to one box per series now since the Flashback days, but even I would be tempted to buy multiple boxes with those odds.
