About ten years ago I got into my childhood collection from the 70s and sold off my duplicates on ebay (I recognize a number of user names on the forum as winning bidders of those auctions). There I learned about tan backs and white backs, and that the 1st series tan and 3rd series white backs had been distributed more so in the midwest. I grew up in St. Louis and had the good fortune of a parent who carried all kinds of trading cards in his business and brought home boxes of wackys whenever a new series came out. (The memories come rushing back!) And so ten years ago I had lots of duplicates of those rarer variations. I'm now toying with the idea of selling my entire collection, which includes complete sets of series 1-16, with both white and tan backs of series 1 and 3. I'm also thinking about having the rarer sets graded. Bottom line - I'm really not sure what I want to do. I've gotten more into my sports card collection the last five years, and could use the money. On the other hand, the original wackys are just cool. For those who have been long time collectors, I'm curious what your thoughts are . . . about card grading, where the market for these are going, etc.
