General Wacky Packages Discussion / Re: New Underground Comix Coming!

I think you all have a great opportunity here. There has always been a connection between comics and Wackys. Jay Lynch did tons of cartooning, like Nard and Pat, The Pigeon People, and even some Bazooka Joe strips. Art Spiegelman is famous for his Maus graphic novels, but did tons of lesser known work too. Bill Griffith had his nationally recognized Zippy the Pin Head comic after he gave us Generally Defective bulbs. More recently Jeff Zapata has done both Wackys and work on comics. What you have here is a chance to get in on the ground floor and grab a Number 1 issue! It will help the artist, and you'll be able to say "I knew him way back when!" With MAD magazine defunct, what else are you gonna read??? Order your copy of SWELL today!

Buy Requests for Wacky Packages / Re: Wants List

Anyone have some WP fabric for sale? My wife and I have been doing a "glam up" on our media room/man cave. New paint, flooring, furniture, and rug, but I was looking for some WP fabric for curtains for a 36" x 48" window. I have some small swatches of several different WP patterns, and even some non-WP parody patterns, but not enough for this project. Ebay and Etsy are both light on fabric right now.

I'm only aware of the "InterGOOlactic Mayhem" subset I posted a link to.

The "Kids At Play" subset is from the forthcoming (2/16) GPK set.
Thanks boss F/S clued me in....

General Wacky Packages Discussion / Re: I.R.S. raises eBay threshold

Sellers are not going to be happy campers if they live in one of the states referred to below, as they will receive a 1099-K based on the reporting regs in their state (e.g., in NJ the threshold is $1,000):

For the tax year 2023, you will receive a Form 1099-K if any of the below apply:
You sold more than $20,000 and 200 transactions.
You did not give us your SSN, ITIN, or EIN and we withheld your payments or your payments were subject to withholding (this applies even if you did not have available funds to cover your withholding tax).
You reside in a State that has a lower reporting threshold than the Federal reporting threshold. Check with your state’s tax or revenue department to confirm the Form 1099-K threshold for your state.

Buy Requests for Wacky Packages / My need list
« Last post by mikecho on January 27, 2024, 08:48:49 PM »
I've seen others do this, so I'll try it.

These are the Wackys I need to finish my collection:

ANS11 Bonus Stickers

*B2: With-Bone Artichoked Dressing
*B5: Chef Birdee Beakaroni
*B6: Ultra Frite Advanced Frightening Toothpaste - Ghoul Mint

Wacky Halloween Postcards 2010 Wacky Halloween Artists cards

*Kackel
*Mellow Cup
*Mike and Yikes
*Boozooka
*Stake 5
*Starbeast
*Tootsie Troll (this is a rare card that was never made available to collectors, but instead all of its copies were given out to all seven of the seven artists who created this series)
*mr. Ghoulbar (rough art version)

I'm offering $12.00 for the first category - $4.00 for each one of them. Regarding the second category, please be kind when considering the price you'll offer, as I'm still unemployed and, therefore, cannot pay exorbitant prices for this subset. In fact, please PM me about either of them and we'll talk.

Thanks!

Original Series / Re: 1st Series Red Ludlows

For the same reason some kids wrote their names on card backs or three hole punched comics…Because we were stupid kids…
Yes, anyone who has accumulated major amounts of OS stickers from purchasing full collections, miscellaneous lots, etc has undoubtedly also acquired a subset of stickers with these issues - initials or names on back (always in ink of course), peeled borders, re-sticks, etc.  a shame, but it is what it is.  The sheer population of surviving stickers in collectors hands still blows my mind, so have to be grateful.

I have seen one or two hold-punched comics over the years, but thankfully I never did that to mine.  Did manage to somehow lose some of my childhood comics, but what else is new.
