Title: Vile Valentines & Spookshow Funnies
Post by: Sunstroke on March 14, 2010, 06:11:34 PM
I am offering to the boards special pricing on my 2 trading cards sets.

1st up is Spookshow Funnies. There are 27 different cards in this set which is based on 1960's Monster cards with a "Funny" Caption. The backs either feature a puzzle piece, or "True Weird Things!" text pieces. Each card is limited to 50 copies, & signed. Every aspect is hand done by me, hence the higher cost. These are printed on heavy Archival board stock with lightfast inks. I have less than 20 left of some cards.

There are a ton of variations caused by working out the kinks, I do still have some of these left. More info on them is found here:

Vile valentines was the follow up I put out last month. Again, each card is limited to 50, signed & hand cut & assembled. Backs feature terrible jokes.

These are sold in full sets of 12 with gum in a "Wax" Wrapper. Normal price for a set is $60, offered here for $50 shipped

Matt, these are cool. One question: You have quotes around the word wax. Are they wax packs or something to try to look like that style?

Thanks David! They are as close to wax as you could get without using wax. It's actually a paper with an ultra thin plastic coat on one side, and paper on the other. The weight & plastic side are real close, but I can't run wax through my giclee printer, so I need the paper side. People who have gotten them have all been thrilled with the proximity to the original.

Those sets look really nice!  The Bat card in Spookshow Funnies looks just like the one that's being stolen on my Klepto sketch card!  Does the set of 27 come with a wrapper?

Thanks! Yeah, a very similar bat  ;) Sometimes I resort to "Icon" instead of studying a real bat. I could throw a wrapper in, sure.

I am confused by this. Are the sketch cards $20 each? Are they randomly picked out or do you have a list available?
These are really cool.

Those are 2 I have done already & sold, all sketch cards are $20 each. I pictured these as an example of what to expect on a sketch card. Of the 27 I will do, I did 5 & sold them all about 10 days ago, so there are 22 left. I will also do 27 for Vile Valentines, but have not gotten any of those done yet.

I can sketch as an order comes in, or post specific ones after they are completed, either way is ok with me.

OMG, this is friggen terrific!  Not sure how I didn't stumble on this thread yet, mainly because I haven't navigated the non-wacky threads too much.  Tell me more about the sketches, there are 27 cards in this set so you are only doing one sketch that represents each title?

Just doing 27 different sketches in general. I figured since there were 27 cards, I would match that with 27 sketches. So far 13 are done.

the top 6 in this photo were the most recent that I got together for my appearance at C2E2 this weekend in Chicago, but a few already sold

$30 for color. I try to keep it affordable! The last color sketch card I put on ebay went for $76! :o

It's being held at

Lakeside Center
McCormick Place

The Wizard Shows are usually at Rosemont, this is a new show & it looks pretty huge.

Not sure how I didn't stumble on this thread yet, mainly because I haven't navigated the non-wacky threads too much.

I got in the habit of using the "show unread posts since last visit" link and I think it covers all topics and categories.  Are you just looking for the "new" buttons for new posts?

I stand corrected……….I just checked the "non-sport" section and there are several threads I haven't seen not showing up with the "show unread posts" link, so I don't know what the parameters are.

It turns out it was pure laziness on my part, I would hit all of the new wacky sale/trade posts and just skipped the non-wackys.

I am not sure why it acts that way. I am hoping the new release fixes this. I sure wish they would hurry up and release it!
