For some reason, in joining this board a large group of people felt the need to change their IDs. As a result, it's very confusing to identify people. Already, someone changed their name to Liptorn and was misidentified as Willie Shabas (Liptorn on Greg's board).
Might I suggest that for awhile people throw into posts their old ID so others might have some idea who they are?

I considered changing my name, since RawGoo wasn't close to my first choice when I joined Greg's forum 4 years ago - seemed that everything I tried had been taken! But, I figured it would get too confusing, and that I was better off having people recognize me. Plus, Rebell-Jet did such a great job on my avatar!

I am that someone. I was Coffinmate on Greg's forum. Didn't mean for any misidentifications, just wanted to take the opportunity to have an I.D. that I like the best. In my first post here I immediately told everyone that I changed it to Liptorn, my all time favorite Wacky. I guess it will take a little time for everyone to get used to all who changed I.D.s. I'll put the old info. in my profile as suggested.

He sure did great work! I forget what I sent him as a "Thank You", but I appreciate his efforts whenever I watch my avatar. Don't know that he's a member of either of the new forums now though.....

I'd really love to have an animated avitar. I wouldn't use the one from Greg's forum which is Willie's. If Willie came here, he could still use his avitar and sign up as Liptorn2 or something like that, or I'd change to Liptorn2. If I were to animate the Liptorn dude, I would maybe start with the flames coming out of the guy's mouth (just like the card) and then have the soup bowl explode into a mushroom cloud.

While I would still like to see a field added to the Profile info so folks can include (at least) their first name - I like to address folks by their first name when I can - my second suggestion would be this one: use your signature field to include perhaps your first name, your previous forum name (if it differed), etc. My signature has a link to my homemade page and it does mention that I'm Martin. Then again, I am using my nearly decade old forum name (I like the Crayons, what can I say).

I was de-mentedtomatoes and am now De-Mented Tomatoes, now that we can have two word IDs.

I do like having two words for IDs. I had to underscore on the old board to have Crakola_Crayons.

Brian, what you need to do is get a copy of your avatar from the old board. Log in, pull up your old profile there and see your picture. Right click on it and save it to your hard drive on your computer. Then come here, modify your profile and upload that saved avatar to this board. Really easy.

Good idea Dave. I made a comment before that I feel like I'm at a costume party trying to figure out who everyone is.

So even if you put your full name in your profile others won't see it? I thought it was a choice whether you wanted your name hidden or not. That makes identification even trickier.

You could put your email and hide. I don't recall seeing anywhere that you could put your full name in your profile here. I need to go back and look just to be sure I didn't over look it. If I click on your name to get your profile, I am not seeing your full, real name.
Update: nope, nowhere in the personal info like gender, birthday, etc. is there a field to put in the profile a real name. Brad, can that field be added to profiles at this point or not?

Hello everybody! I was ronlisa on the old forum and on this one too. I kept the user name the same so there would be no confusion with anybody. I dont post much because I hate to type but I do check in on the forums almost daily.
I know that the user name "ronlisa" has nothing to do with Wacky Packages, its my name and my wifes name put together which most of you have probly allready figured out. Its the name I started out with on Gregs site , so I just kept it the same.

I am confused by who a few forum members are here because some of us changed our username when this new forum arrived. Would it be a good idea to put your former username under your avatar to help the people like me the get confused easily if you made a change? I realize we may have some new people here that didn’t come from Gregs forum and therefore they wouldn’t have a former username; which might be adding to my confusion. I added my former username “wackyfan” under my avatar by adding it in the “Personal Text" field which is found under “Forum Profile Information”. ???

Everyone get's a first crack at their name. I applaud you for saving it for someone but you never know if they will join. Quite a few joined right away so they can keep their name or get the first pick of a new name.
You could always claim it and then sell it for high markup - Full die-cut set please >:D

That's why I joined right away! I used to use the "Ronzombie" avitar when I 1st joined (the other forum), but I was always ronofthedead now I am (RonZombie) from here on out! LOL!!! :] :]

Buz, do you need help moving your avatar? PM if you have troubles but the only thing you need to do is right click on the image from the other forum and save it to your computer. Then go into your profile and add it by uploading it. Then you are all set.

I agree 100% with that. I love all the earier series but I think the second and tenth are my favorites.

I pretty much use BaudLight on any site I'm on (have since around 1995). I'm not a beer drinker, but couldn't resist the pun. I have always managed to be at a slower modem speed than the majority (that actually started in the 80's with the old direct-call Bulletin Board Systems). I just upgraded from 28.8k to high speed internet late last year, so I am caught up...for now.
I think that BaudLight could be made into a Wacky Packages sticker. Maybe have a Nitwit passed out and drooling on the keyboard while waiting for a website to load. The beer for guys with low bandwidth!

I never got a 6up sticker as a kid. I saw one on a kid's bike at school, and always admired it. The kid said if I could remove it, I could have it. But it was stuck on there really good, so I didn't bother. Always loved that title.

Speaking of stuck stickers. My 6up sticker ended up being stuck to a wall in my Parents summer camp. I remember when the house was remodeled in the early 80's that the wall with the sticker survived. My parents sold the place in 97 and the new owneers planned to renovate part of the place and tear the other half down for an addition. I visited the place a couple years back was able to talk to the owners and noticed that the orginal was was still there and makes me think that years from now someone will find it.

You seem different than Ron from the “original” forum. Are you an alien who has taken over Ron’s body?
And realize the meaning of “original forum” varies, since for some members, this is their first WP forum, and others, their 3rd or 4th WP forum. And, while I’m being a prick, you replied to this thread on March 12th, as Reply #4 of 73. I know that was a long time ago, and it’s not a huge deal, but you post a large number of casual comments and remarks. Is it possible that’s why someone gave you negative karma a while back? Did you ever ask why someone did that, in your, Someone on here is truly nasty! thread?

Zen, I thought it was an animated avatar? If it is you can right click on the image from the other forum and do a save as to your computer. Then you can upload it.

Just curious as to some people have switched their names that I see that 2 members are now showing up as guests.
I know the T-Shirt guy fled pretty fast and canceled his account but I also noticed that Bum and Mable also is now showing up as a guest. I can't remember who that user was but curious if they changed their name. Anyone know?

As Liptorn is truly one of my absolute favorites, I do have others that I like and think that I will change my I.D. to one of these:
Tied - Hurts - Neveready - Liquid Bomber - Screech Tape - Playbug - Famous Mobsters - Ghoul Humor or Mr. Stubble
Does anyone know of anyone already using any of these names before I change???

Melvin Bowler is Mr. Stubble on Greg's forum, last activity April 3, 2010, posts 1344. He's well-known, although I haven't seen him here.....
As for the other names:
On Greg's forum Drew Muller was TIED..Up last activity was in April 2009, 238 posts
Hurts_Tomatoes, last activity August 2009, 156 posts
Neveready was John Dubinski (the guy that does the wacky photomosaics), last activity February 2010, 121 posts
Screechtape2008, last activity March 2010, 35 posts
If a name didn't have any activity in 2010 or 2009 I didn't include it in the list above.

Sounds good, thanks for that info. Now I feel relieved that I have finally settled on a forum ID that wont be interferring with someone else's and it's cool!

Ron, what transformed you from being outraged to not caring? You often don’t seem to care, especially since joining this forum.
I logged on to Greg’s forum recently and saw some of your posts that make me question if you are genuine in your “positive” support of this forum. I’ve read posts where members have kindly hinted that you pipe down a bit with these comments, but you seem determined and dedicated to continue with this behavior. Did you “get” the hints, and like a 7 year old, this has fueled your fire?

Although it appears to me that you are posting large numbers of meaningless comments with a devious purpose, I’m still a tiny bit on the fence about this, so you can prove me wrong, and I will apologize.

I logged on to Greg’s forum recently and saw some of your posts that make me question if you are genuine in your “positive” support of this forum. And if you're getting messages why can't theese people send me one and tell me what ever you're talking about in person!!! This is all I can post on the subject because I'm TOTLY in the dark! Ron, let me take a stab at interpretting what Jean Nutty is saying (JN, correct me if I am wrong..).
As an outside observation of your postings on this forum as well as Greg's two (the old one and his new one) over the past month or so, you seem to reply to a lot of posts for the sake of replying. This was not something you used to do previously (prior to the forum splits). Perhaps you didn't feel comfortable on Greg's older forum until recently to start doing more of this. But this is the same kind of behavior that Joe Fox (Wackim) used to exhibit on that board - he had lots of time on his hands and the forums were a primary social outlet for him so he posted a lot. And that kind of behavior is what often got on a lot of people's nerves over there (some were more vocal about it than others).
On this board, you seemed driven by "how many posts/what level am I at now". You'd comment on reaching a certain level. You'd comment on others reaching a certain level. You'd post "I agree" or "cool" or "have fun", etc. to lots of posts without really adding anything substantial to the discussion. Perhaps that might have been part of the reason Brad removed the tracking of the number of posts a person puts up - in part so folks would not have to hear you commenting about hitting milestone numbers. I'm not sure.

Thank you Martin for talking to me rather than attacking me! I was not aware I was doing this and as far as the "Mile posts" I was just letting other forum members know how many posts they needed to reach that point! If I annoyed anyone I am truly sorry I'll try to do better from now on that's all I can do. All my WACKY best...RonZ 8)

The key is this: before you hit "post" you have to ask yourself these kinds of things: Is this something that needs to be publicly posted to all? Can a private message just to that person handle sufficiently cover it? Is this something I would stand up in the center of a crowded room at a party and get everyone's attention just to say?

When I say you’ve been posting a lot of fluff, you call it an attack.
The reason I and a few others have not said anything until now is that we thought you might respond in a negative fashion, such as you did. There have been a few comments about this – if you recall I ribbed you about posting 30 posts a day a month or so ago, and possibly getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. That was a gentle hint. Nobody wants to read 20-30 posts every day, from any forum member. Other members have nicely hinted also. I’ve seen a couple of “I agree” chains that parodied your posts, but I guess you didn’t get the gag when you read them. My bad.

I did'nt respond in a "negative" fashion, I simply had no idea what you were talking about! Had you said something politly like Martin instead of accusing me of things that I have not done none of this would have transpired. I may have posted to much, but I have never said anything bad about anyone! On Greg's forum Drew Muller was TIED..Up last activity was in April 2009, 238 posts
I wonder were Drew went. I met him at a couple of shows a few years back. I'll havwe to look him up.
