You can post your avatar in your profile. Try not to make them too big. :o
-
How do you do it?

How do you do it?
You need to have an animated GIF that you or someone has created. You can then add that as a picture to your profile.
-
so, I can use mine from the other forum?

Nice!

Thanks Neil! I am sure it will take a bit to get people posting and such. I know it's tough with 2 boards and my intention is not to take anything away from Greg as I don't want any accolades for creating this forum. I just want to make sure if something happens to the other forum we have a solution in place.
Gotta love all the features of this forum. I am starting to look at various plug-ins so things could change in a hurry ;)
Hey! Check this out!!!
-
Yeah, thanks for starting this forum.

-
BTW theese (Smileys) are an "Excellent" feature! :))
-
Any chance someone would use their imagination and animate this one for me?
Thanks
Richie
-
I would like that also!
-
I don't recall who did the animation for my avatar - it was probably back in 2000/2001 (wow, almost a decade ago).

Hi ALL, testing out my avatar transfer.

Ok, I figured out the avatar but it says it's too big. The problem is this was done by rebell-jet and I don't believe I have a program to reduce it. Does anyone know how to reduce it? I don't even have a copy of the GIF on my computer.

You need a copy of the Gif. You should be able to get it from the other forum just by clicking on it and saving it with your internet browser. You then can upload it here. Better hurry because it might be going away soon.
If you try to link it to the other forum then that is where there is a limit to the size. You don't want to link it because the other forum's data could be gone tonight.
-
Cool! Now let's see if my avatar works...

Martin - I am pretty sure it was Paul A. who animated yours. He was totally obsessed with fire and things melting.
-
You are probably right. Any way I have had it for so long it is like a part of me. ;)

Thanks, it worked but it looks too large as compared to everyone else's so I'll try to reduce it.
-
Having trouble reducing the size. When i try to change the dimensions it stops doing a loop. I'll try to work on it more tomorrow.

Thanks, I tried to download the AVS Editor and it says it's not Mac compatible. Knowing that you are a Mac dude too do you use that program? I'm confused how other avatars are sized smaller when they came from the same source as mine.

Ok, I got it! Must have downloaded the wrong link the first time.

There is nothing to download. There is an upload button on the main screen and then you upload your image. Then you resize it and then save it back to your computer.
It looks like something went a bit wonky with your conversion, you have some image tearing.

Martin said he sees a red x where my avatar is. I see the Old School box. Is there any problem for anyone else in seeing it?
-
I'm seein a red box. :-[

I see yours just fine. I am using firefox though. I will also check to see if it's corrupt with IE or Safari.
-
I changed the size of mine and also changed it to RGB colors. It's a jpg file. Still seeing an X? Why would I see the avatar and not others?
-

Just put it up and see how big it gets.

I just checked with IE and it looks fine. You must also be bringing some good Karma to the group. Your up to 5! ^-^
-
I've been friendly w/everyone and had several "positive" posts but only 1 + karma. :(

I made it smaller for you.
Thanks Brad! When I tried resizing it with the website you mentioned, the dimensions got smaller, but the file size got bigger, and the server wouldn't accept it. Thought I was going to have to lose the animation.
-
Hey Brad could you make mine a little bigger? Thank you in advance...RonZ ;)
-
How do you change the size? Mine avatar isnt that big, but it says it is too big on here.

Thanks Brad! I'm still learning how to use the new forum -- looks great so far. I've already spent way longer than I intended tonight surfing around. ;) Thanks much for setting this up!

It just occurred to me that my avatar, which has not been altered in probably 5 years, looks like he's pasting LTL Wacky graphics on his wall. ;D
-
Brad, I cannot get my avatar to stick. It tells me it's too large ... (that's what she said).
Can you help me out? Thanks. Avatar address is:

Save it to your computer - right click on the image and say 'save image'. Then you need to upload it into your profile. Let me know if you get stuck.

I know what you mean about being logged on longer than you intended! I'm not sure I like that timer up top that tells you how much time you've spent here........

OK, done but too big. Can you shrink that moe foe down when you get a chance? Not too small though. Just enough so you don't have to drag the bar to see the entire image. Thanks Brad.

There should be a $20 service fee for people that can't follow directions ;)
I found the best to be about 150 in height. I tried 170 and it got all messed up.
The URL to is:
http://online-image-editor.com/
Hit upload
Hit edit -> resize
Select 150 for height.
Click file
Hit save
Make sure it looks good before hitting save or just hit the redo button and try again with a different size setting.

Brad,
Where is the section to upload an avatar? I have looked in the profile section, but I am missing something. Maybe I am just tired!

In your profile, look under Forum Profile Information.

I'm not sure why but like Ron I'm only seeing an Old School box as Slamjim's avatar.

Dave Gross said he is using an Old School Box as his avatar right now. He retired, for the moment, the fighting sticks of processed meat. Maybe he'll return to them someday.

Fred, it does indeed! Wow, you were ahead of your time there. Maybe your classic avatar inspired the LTL guys to do Wackys? ;)

Thanks Martin. I must have missed that post. So many to read, so little time.

It does take some time to get caught up. The moment I think I have gone through every post, more unread pop up. I can see losing lots of hours here. But, it is a good thing. It shows people are active, want to participate and want to focus on friendship and fun.
