Hello all, I've been working on putting together the puzzle from the 16th series. It was relatively easy to get the left side and the middle row, but the left side of the puzzle is proving harder to find, and more expensive when they do pop up. Does anyone know if this is a printing thing? Was the right and middle in more quantity on the press sheet? If so, is that the same for all of the other series? I never noticed a difference in the other series.

In every series, the right side (for portrait orientation) or the bottom row (for landscape orientation) is slightly short printed (there are 16 copies of the other two rows, and only 12 for the short printed row per sheet). This is because all Topps sheets have exactly 11 columns.
Here is an example:

That is great information. I would be curious if PSA understands and would ever establish the short prints as such.

It's not PSA job to declare scarcity.

They definitely don’t understand it, but I don’t think they would call out the short prints on the flip, since they generally don’t do that for short printed sports cards.

Thanks for the image, that makes perfect sense. I guess I never saw the price difference in the other issues. Maybe it was there, but just slightly, and it is more magnified in the 16th series.

Maybe, but I've been collecting OS for decades now, and it's always the right column (portrait) or bottom row (landscape) that you will be missing to complete puzzles.... for any OS series.

I have known Mark since the mid 90s and met him at the 99 Philly show. We even got lost trying to meet up at Greg Grant's "after party"... we finally found his place. Yes, this was before I had a cell phone/GPS
