Is anyone familiar wih the wonderbread wackys, maybe remember when they came out?
Is this really a "new find?"

The wonder bread wackies were not distributed in cellophane envelopes. They were exposed right there against the bread. In fact, you could clearly see right through the plastic packaging to see what Wacky was in the package.

Yes, I had no personal experience obtaining Wackys via Wonderbread Packages, but it has been said that Wackys were inserted ‘naked’ into the loaves without any separate wrapper or other protection, and this is why some Wonderbread Wackies exhibit staining caused by contact with the bread. A more extreme example of this is the 1975-79 Hostess Baseball cards, many of which have really unsightly staining. But given that the snack cakes were typically separately wrapped in pairs or individually, I’ve never been completely clear on how the exposure to oils occurred to begin with, given that the cards were part of the outer box.

I would say yes! That is definitely a glassine envelope commonly used for storing collectible stamps in. I think that Matt knows as well as any of us that Wonder Bread stickers did not have wrappers.

I never found a Wonderbread Wacky in any special envelope, just in the bread package, next to the bread. I used to pick up all the loaves to see what sticker was in there and then make sure my mom bought the loaf I wanted most. That's how I ended up with so many Awful Bits to stick!

Heck,i remember going with my mom to the bread aisle & loaf's were open & sticker missing lots of times we went to market,sticker was just in loaf by itself.

We were not so excited about the Wonderbread Wackies where I came from. The Wackies in Wonderbread were outdated by the time they were packed up with the bread. I remember going through the loaves in vain hope of finding a Wacky from a current series - instead it was always last years Wackies they were offering. A bum deal.

Since I was a late bloomer to the Wacky craze (didn't start collecting them until the 6th series) I loved the Wonder Bread Wackys because they were the only way that I could get those early 1st and 2nd series titles. And yes, the Wackys were loose inside the loaf of bread!

"matt knows" is an interesting concept. I will make a prediction here for anyone who cares to have dialogue with him on this. He will create plausible deniability claiming that someone sold it to him and they claim it was pulled from wonderbread this way. Now that someone could be his "neighbor" for all we know.

Listing has ended, good to see no one bit on a $50 starting bid for a $1 sticker. But if he re-lists for $20 or $25, I could imagine some novice going for it.

This is 100% true. To keep our feet dry!

I never pulled a Wacky out of a WonderBread bag that wasn't just loose with no wrapper. But I DID always wonder WHY they didn't put them in something that would prevent them from being stained. Because we didn't know as kids that WonderBreads were released in separate series, I'm not sure which sets I pulled from bread. But none of my friends ever presented them in envalopes either. That's not to say it's impossible, though... considering that by the time SHEDDS came out in '77, they had the smarts to release them in packs. That would have been an interesting feat for PSA to try to grade... NM8, dried peanut butter is slightly crooked at the left edge, 1/2" lick mark.
